And hey... if you look at the first link, it confirms that these are for Tenchi's 25th anniversary.  AIC being late to that punch again, I see (They were a year late to talking about the 20th anniversary too)... but hey, at least this time it's being handled properly.  I mean, if you want a comparison chart, including the spanned timeframes...

20th Anniversary (2012 to 2014)
-Ai Tenchi Muyo! (Acknowledged despite our feelings about it).
-...and that's it (That mobile game doesn't count IMO).

25th Anniversary (2017 to at least 2018)
-OVA 4 already happened, OVA 5 confirmed to happen at some point.
-True Tenchi Muyo! novels and Ai Tenchi Muyo! (Again, acknowledged despite our feelings about it) crossing the pond, hopefully OVA 4 is next.
-Japan gets the entire series on Bluray.

It's getting done right this time.   :parrot:

This is good news. Hopefully this will help finance OVA 5.
Please help out with improving the Tenchi Muyo wiki:

I doubt that, the main beneficiary would be Universal.
"Growing up leads to growing old and then to dying, and dying to me don't sound like all that much fun."

Hope so, otherwise it's SD on BD.  :shepicide:

(Universe's 26 episodes on 2 BD25's)
"Growing up leads to growing old and then to dying, and dying to me don't sound like all that much fun."

Will this be superior to or merely equal to qtgmc existing DVDs ISOs?

I though BR OAVs looked okay but the graininess of the film really stood out.  The colors were much improved.

Out of all the titles, I think I might be interested only in the PS OAV.

Give me Dual on BR or I RIOT...please? :neg:
Say my name.

Baker.

You're dang right.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the In Tokyo BDs are gonna look really bad. I was never a huge fan of the quality of the series in the first place.

And if it's upscaled?  :poopoo:
This is not a sig, it's a Sandwich.

-Pretty much the entire back catalog of Tenchi Muyo! content (Including the movies AND Dual!) is getting released on BD (The only things that aren't here are anything after GXP, which means the 2 seasons of Sasami: Magical Girls Club are still unaccounted for in the re-release department)

-OVA 3 got a BD release last year

-At least War on Geminar, Ai, and OVA 4 didn't need BD releases, because they were already done (Not sure about GXP; can someone tell me if GXP was already released on BR or not?)

-OVA 5 has already been confirmed by Kajishima himself

-Lastly and most importantly... these new BDs are noted as being for the Tenchi 25th anniversary

You, good sir, are onto something.  And calling it now... the "something bigger" is gonna be OVA 5.  Think about it; Kajishima already said it was happening.  :)

You, good sir, are also onto something.  I mean, as much flack as we give Ai Tenchi Muyo! (And rightfully so), at least we can all agree that the animation quality in Ai was still MUCH better than Tenchi in Tokyo.  I'll definitely agree that Tokyo had the worst animation quality, and that means yup, the BDs are definitely gonna look bad.   :ground:

Magical Project S had the lowest quality artwork. Just look at any of the production cels and you will know I am right. Still, could be worse, at least their faces and eyes aren't a complete clusterfuck, unlike SDF Macross. That said, IF all of these have new transfers based off the original masters, they should all look exceptionally better than what is out there. But, given the cost per set, I expect these to simply be upscales of existing transfers.

NO PHOTON!?!?  :damn:

That would be an awful shame. :jap:  Cel-based animation like Universe and Pretty Sammy benefit wonderfully from HD-transfers. I really don't want a repeat of what happened with the Slayers TV BDs especially with how amazing the Slayers Movie/OVA Remastered BD-BOX looked.

Trust me, the SD video mastering for Tokyo is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more atrocious than the animation production values ever were.

Hey, If I buy the Blu-rays of Dual! Can someone help me figure out how to rip the sub track and put it in the encode?
