Conspiracy Time: Tsunami b4 Tsunami, could Azusa & Misaki be brother and sister?

So down below is a thumbnail of Azusa's parents.  Jurain female and GXP officer.

It always bothered me that Misaki never looked anything like Seto or Utsutsumi whatsoever.

What if Azusa and Misaki turned out to be brother and sister?

Did you know in ancient Egypt brothers and sisters married all the time in the royal family?

Conversely, in the 16-17th century Europe, royal families intermarried all the time.  While it wasn't sibling incest, it probably not much better genetically.  Much of the time, it was cousins inbred with cousins descended for generations from other such similar couplings.  HOWEVER, Royal Families often visited each other, and for spurts of time, often a future wife and husband grew up together and had problems seeing each other more than siblings even if they were not.

This enacts what is called the Westermarck effect, a protective mechanism that should insure against incest, by the mind basically labelling anyone we grew up together with the first 6 or so years of life as sexually uninteresting as a partner.  This happened to Louis XVI and his wife Mary Antoinette and they had severe problems getting a kid at first because of that, and in fact waited almost 5 years to even consummate the marriage.

The Egyptians Royal Families, otoh, completely segregated the boys and the girls growing up, avoiding that completely, so even if they were siblings they would not feel that way.

Is Misaki Amame's daughter and Seto just adopted her?  Seto adopted Noike after all.

Perhaps Seto took her to enforce this conventional wisdom and raise Misaki as her own, as they set a marriage contract on Azusa early on like they did with Yoshou.  Also, it would make Misaki fully Jurain and not a somewhat off-worlder like Azusa, and on top of that, bind the Kamiki and Masaki houses together.

It turns out, in the books, that it seems that Misaki and Azusa just naturally dislike each other.  Maybe that's too strong a term.  Azusa was severely uninterested in her, hence him going to earth and eventually finding and picking up Funaho.

When it came time for Yosho to be betrothed after his birth, due to their own experiences, the parents thought the system was broken, opted to raise Yosho and Ayeka and Sasami together...
they completely disregarded the conventional wisdom and the situation completely fell apart.  Ayeka said in episode 3 that it was not uncommon for brother and sisters to be married on Jurai.  So they had to know what was involved in making it successful and it just wasn't a fluke.

There is one last thing to consider.  Their ages.  Off the top of my head but in the right area:

Azusa - 760
Funaho - 758
Misaki - 743

Yosho - 730
Aeka - 722
Sasami - 708

As you see, the Azusa marriage, all the spouses are 17 years within each other.  They got their kids early on in one cluster, from when Azusa was 30 to 52, and that was it.  No more.

So what is more likely, that Amame bore two children in the same general time frame (for a Jurain) and bear similiar eye colors, and that Seto readily adopted this second kid for political reasons like she did Kamiki?  Misaki looks like Sasami, who looks like Amame, because it's all one daughter-mother-granddaughter chain.

Or that after 4,300 years of life, Seto gets her first kid all of a sudden in time for this child to marry a young Azusa.  And also, that this child, Misaki, who looks nothing like her, bears a striking resemblance to her daughter Sasami and by extension her "mother-in-law" with no supposed relation?

I believe that Misaki is one of Lady's Seto's daughters.  Even through Lady Seto is between 5,000 and 6000 years old, she will likely want to have more children on occasion. There is a theory which suggests that Lady Seto may be connected with Washu's best friend and colleague Naja Akara.  Naja Akara had disappeared during a pirate attack before. Since Lady Seto is more than 5,000 years old, she could be a descendent of Naja Akara.

Lady Seto being a descendent of Naja Akara seems to the best conspiracy theory.  After Naja's disappearnce, she may have been a victim of a severe case of amensia. Naja having amesia is just one way of proving the theory of Lady Seto being one of her descendents.

Waiwaiwaiwait.... Azusa isn't nearly that young, is he?  I mean, he's the one who told Katsuhito/Yosho "I can wait another thousand years" at the end of OVA2:6, "Here Comes Jurai"?

The dub often gives impressions that the sub does not.  For all we know, the original could have simply said that Azusa could wait 2,000 years (without the another).  Those who did the translations weren't experts on the story and had to infer things.  The biggest example is that Ryoko's original VA, handpicked by MK as were all the VAs, was not sultry at all like Petrea Buchard, but more mischievous and such.

But yeah, I and others calculated out the ages long ago.  Forget exactly how.  I think the TTNs listed how old the parents were when Ayeka, Yosho, or Sasami were born or in relation to each other.  Plus Azusa was fairly young (in his 20s) when he came to earth wounded from battle with Kagato (and Ryo-ohki?) and Funaho first met him and took care of him.  Then when Yosho landed on earth, himself fighting Ryoko, aged around 22, he met and married Funaho's niece, his cousin, Kasumi, who was around 18.  Since earthlings didn't have life extensions, Funaho's younger sister can be presumed to have given birth to her a few years after Funaho left with Azusa.  Here is Kasumi:

Another indication that Azusa is that age, is that Misaki was 17 years his junior and seemed to be the annoying little kid in his eyes, imo.  Misaki was only 13 years older than Yosho, and would in fact wake Yosho up and he developed a crush on her as a child.  Seto intervened before anything could happen.

Oooohhh... I see.

That'd make him pretty young to be an emperor already considering who the crown would be passed on to, wouldn't it?

Probably just a smug term...

The only character who's actually around 2000+ that's not a goddess is Seto, some Kurumitsus and Neju. Basically, the 700 year hiatus of Ryoko stuck in her cave set the tone for just about everyone when it comes to age. Otherwise, everyone in the story is relatively young.

Don't forget Azusa's parents.  And Naja.  And Doctor Clay.  Kagato.
