(... I know, it's the worse introduction ever isn't it?)
It was another nice, quiet, and peaceful day at the Masaki residence. Tenchi was working at the fields, harvesting carrots for Ryo-oh-ki. Aeka and Ryoko were engrossed in a Korean drama on TV. Mihoshi was off doing her own thing. Sasami was busy preparing Tenchi's o-bento (lunchbox) and Washu hasn't come out of her room since morning.
A moving truck was seen going past the house into the woods.
"Hm? New neighbor?" wondered Ryoko out loud as she watched the car drive pass their house out of the corner of her eye.
Indeed, there was a car behind it, with a red haired driver, Caucasian features.
"Mmmm...." mumbled Mihoshi as she turned to her side on her bed, book still in hand. After a meal she had wandered up to her room to read another chapter of The Hungry Game, a novel that had been all the rage in space some years ago, flying off the shelves. She had been so engrossed that she had fallen asleep, perhaps daydreaming a mix of her Galaxy Police work and the novel's contents.
That's when she heard a large "VROOOOM" sound outside from the street that cuts by the house, which was successful in waking her up somehow. She sat back up, dropping the book to the floor and rubbing her eyes.
"That was a nice nap..." she commented with a yawn, then fretting, "Oh no, I've lost my chapter."
Then her eyes drifted to the trees outside, noticing that it had started raining.
Pitter tap...
pitter tap...
The rain continued to fall on the Masaki residence.
"It started raining." said Ryoko, looking outside.
"Indeed it is." replied Ayeka half-halfheartedly , too engrossed in the kissing scene on TV.
"Oh!" she said, her hand reaching out for the cookies.
"Hmm...." Ryoko pushed the bowl away and handed her Ryo-oh-ki.
"Oh thanks.... Chewy..."
The men were now unloading the stuff into the log cabin he had purchased. His years with Spetsnaz treated him well, but he was sick of the military scene, and wanted to live his life in peace. He had a nice two room, two floor log cabin in the woods near a lake, looking like an American pioneer's home, but with all the modern conveniences, a firing range in the back, and plenty of time to hike and hunt if he wanted. The rain was disappointing as the men rushed in and arranged his furniture, but once they were done and the van pulled away, he grabbed some coffee and sat under the roof of the porch and enjoyed the range. This would be a nice quiet life.
(Oh he don't know what he in for, do he?)
"MIHOSHI! Why are you still sleeping?!" exclaimed Noike, agitated at the blonde after calling for her repeatedly. Book still on the floor the woman sat up again, yawning again, noticing the teal haired woman in her room.
"Wha... What is it, Noike?" wondered Mihoshi with her airheaded mannerism, looking up at her. They had been partners, and now were housemates, as she was Tenchi's fiance.
The woman sighed, wiping her brow, "You could be downstairs helping with chores. Ayeka and Ryoko are helping to. There's dishes to be washed, potatoes to peel, futons to change...."
"Oh... those chores. Sure thing," agreed Mihoshi, stretching her arms and standing up. She had become a tad lazy since living here, but kept her figure; tight body, tan skin, long wavy blonde hair pulled back in her signature red hair-tie. She had on her usual tan khakis and a pink tank-top.
When Noike drifted back out of her room, she quickly made her way to a communication device resembling a laptop and checked her email; Nothing new, just an image of her brother and sister-in-law together that she'd already seen. She was about to click out when she received a new message; A horoscope of sorts that she had signed up for but never really took seriously. This one read:
"Don't worry about today, for tomorrow is sure to bring roses of blue and sparks of new. Threads will always wear thin before they snap."
The blonde shrugged her shoulders, not thinking much of it as she turned off her computer and hurried downstairs to help. The rain had begun to slow to a mist.
At this, the moving van again past the house back the other way, but without that car in tow.
"Guess I'll go say hi." said Ryoko as she floated out of her chair and toward the ceiling. tttccccchhhhhhh and she dissappeared, teleporting to the outside.
"Hmm.... I think he went this way...." Ryoko muttered to herself as she held her hand to her eyebrow.
He sipped his coffee contentedly, loving the quiet he so admired of the forests back home.
"Hi there!" called out a voice from above. There floated a spikey white haired girl in mid-air.
He set down his coffee and started to look around on the ground, hearing a voice but seeing nothing.
"Up here. You new around here?" said Ryoko, waving down at him.
"GAAAAHH!" he shouted, almost falling backwards out of his chair.
"Hm? What's wrong?" she asked, blinking. She floated down and landed.
He had hit the ground by this point, and started to crawl on his back away from her, saying, "Flying is not normal!"
"It isn't?" she put her index finger on her chin.
"Oh yeah, humans normally can't fly." she said, striking her hand with her fist.
He was already back in his house, and produced an AK-47, hiding behind a bench, shaking and ready to blow her away.
"Hm? Oh, you want to fight?" she grinned, electricy sparking.
"No, evil creature!" he said with his heavy Russian accent, "You are a demon! Go back to Hell and leave me be!"
"I don't have to take that from you!" an energy ball formed in her hand as she threw it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
*Boom*
There was an explosion off in the distance.
"What was that?" Ayeka looked up from the T.V. screen to face the sound of the explosion.
"Sister?!" exlaimed Sasami as she ran into the room.
"What was that?"
"I don't know... Where's Ryoko?"
"Wasn't she watching T.V. with you?"
"She left... We should go find Lord Tenchi."
"Mm!" nodded Sasami.
(How much damage did this do?)
(Have you seen episode 1 of the OVA?)
(No...are we taking crater?)
(No, just the wall.)
"AH...MY NEW HOUSE!" he screamed in tears, muttering something in Russian with it. He got mad, picked up his AK, and started to make target practice out of her if he could.
Mihoshi jumped, hearing the explosion from the kitchen. This caused her to drop the dish she was currently drying onto the floor, as it splintered into shards of ceramic of varying sizes.
"Go get the dustpan and clean that up..." commented Noike.
"Oh okay," replied Mihoshi, passing through the living room to the storage closet. She looked at Ayeka and Sasami, "Say, did either of you hear a loud noise? I wonder what it was..."
The bullets bounced off her harmlessly.
"Heh, you think that would do anything to me?" she laughed, walking toward him.
"What are you? Are you here to torment me?" thinking this was something of his past coming to get him.
"Yeah, we heard something." said Ayeka.
"I'm worried about Ryoko. I think she's causing mischief again..." said Sasami.
"No." she remarked as she approached him with an energy blade.
(Someone wants to take Tenchi so he can save the poor fellow?)
(I need to know his personality better before I do, since on one else seems so anxious to act.)
(Alright, alright! I'll give it a shot!)
Tenchi was sprinting to the sound, screaming, "Ryoko! Let him live!"
"Eh? Tenchi?" said Ryoko, dissipating the blade.
"That's not the way to treat new neighbors!"
Vasilev now just started them.
"Sorry Tenchi~" said Ryoko as she teleported over to him and wrapped around him.
He sighed a bit, not ever having liked her over-affection, saying, "You destroyed that poor man's wall."
"Aww, but it's alright. It's just a wall." she said while making circles on his shirt with her finger.
He broke away and said, "He needs that wall back!"
"He can repair it, right?" she said, casting him a sideways glance.
"Not easily," he said, "It's a log cabin, and it can't be rebuilt like that. Man, all these powers, and you can't whip it back into shape!"
(Got to go. Catch you tomorrow.)
She shrugged.
"I'll ask Washu about it."
Tenchi could see this man was terrified, and he said, "I apologize for her behavior she's..."
"A spawn from Hell," he cut in.
"Not...quite...look, why don't you come to my place, and I..."
"CAN GET OFF MY PROPERTY NOW!" he thundered, leveling his AK at him now. His eyes nearly came out of his head.
"Oh, so you didn't have enough huh?" grinned Ryoko as she got off him and started to form another energy ball..
"Stop it! Leave him alone!" snapped Tenchi, apologized, and dragged Ryoko off his property.
Ryoko pouted and decided to go willingly.
"Tenchi~ Why?" she asked, floating nearby. Her words were layered with honey.
"Because you were about to vaporise our new neighbour..." Tenchi stopped and scratched his head. "Who for some reason is a trigger-happy Russian hillbilly on the Japanese countryside, in a country where it is illegal to own guns...."
"I know right?". Ryoko floated closer and started to stroke his chin. "So I was just going to do you å favour and make that meanie bad neighbour go away."
"Well, if you want to get rid of him you'll have to handle it in a better way than blowing him up. Isn't this unlike you? You've been much nicer after merging with Zero."
Ryoko was happy that Ten-chan called her nice, and decided to not disappoint. "Umm, so it is okay if I just get him to move somewhere else?"
"Sigh... Okay, fine, just this once. I don't want to live next to some mobster, but I have lots of chores to do, so handle it yourself." Tenchi walked off to do some carrot farming.
"Okay, byyyyyeeee! I'll make you proud of meee!". Ryoko waved.
"Remember, no violence, and no causing trouble for the rest of us!" He called back.
"I can't hear you!"
She sat down to think, but didn't come up with any ideas. She was not used to dealing with things in other ways than lots and lots of force, preferably involving planet-shattering explosions. Eventually she opted to ask the Zero part of her mind. She was supposed to be stealthy, and spy-ish and stuff.
"I am not the same as I once was. I can remember much, but no longer connect to it." Zero, now looking like a mirror of Ryoko, replied.
Ryoko looked around, noticing a memory involving somebody called Taiyo, and a woman named "Kei", in a very interesting steamy scene.".
Ryoko noticed how the woman started to continuously morph into other attractive women as the scene continued. "Hey, that's really cool! Can I do that too? It would show Ten-chan that I'm so much better than Ayeka."
"Well, um.. . yes, maybe later... But weren't we supposed to find out how to be a bad neighbour?"
"Oh right! "How to be a bad neighbour"... I wonder... Yup, found one!"
"What?" Zero asked.
"I checked our link to mom's network, inventions, and such, and it turns out that she wrote one to get some quick cash in her academy days. "Complete idiot's 100 fun ways of getting rid of pesky neighbours, and fake relatives named Marty Stu".
"I... See..." Zero replied, while recalling the time Ryoko and Ayeka had picked up dating tips from shoujo manga."
"Oh don't worry. This should be a breeze! Hmm, florgnarz hate the smell of splitskts, so be sure to place some in the local environmental habitat irrigation system... Oh, that one is good."
(HEY...YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO MAKE HIM A FRIEND, NOT SCARE HIM OFF!)
He turned back to his now ruined house, going, "My poor, poor house! Vat I do now! I pay good money. This no easy fix."
"Ryoko!" waved Sasami as she came running up to her. Ayeka was following close behind in that fast-paced princess walk.
"What happened?" asked Sasami.
"Did you get in a fight again?"
"Nah, nothing to it... By the way, do you know where I can find 10 tons of horse manure to put in that mobster's garden? I read that it seems to be the British way to get rid of unwanted neighbours."
Ayeka raised an eyebrow. "Well... although I of course approve of the more cultivated parts of British civilisation. I cannot say that I approve of something so disgusting. Couldn't you just fold him and his house flat and transport them somewhere else? It is how I would have handled it."
Ryoko considered it. "Yeah, that's how you handled what you did when you first showed up isn't it? Maybe later. I'm going to have some fun first. Let's see... structural schematics for methane... combine the molecules I find here and here... build a model... and presto!" A massive circular globe of gas appeared above her head, contained in a transparent force-field.
Royko made a throwing motion towards the neighbour's house. "Annnnd happy landing!"
(Thanks a lot! I'm out of the game now!) >:(
(Antvasima, check the chat.)
(Oh, why the heck should they want to pal around with a Russian mercenary or mafioso? That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't fit at all with the setting, theme, or characters. And it is stinks of pointless OC. If we are going to do some kind of collective story, it should focus on the actual cast. Also, it would be much funnier to come up with ways for Ryoko to chase off any obnoxious OC's.)
(G-guh... Okay, I see your point. Do any of you know of a solution to this? >.>)
(He's not a mafioso or mercenary! Read the character profile! I don't appreciate the way you want to dismiss something like this, just because you don't like it! Obnoxious! How dare you! The whole point is to create characters and such! Are you saying that you are one of these people who hate OC's in a fanfic, who say that every one of them is a Mary Sue! Kiss off, dude! Who died and made you God, antvasima! I think YOU need to stop god-modding, and, besides, you are not the mod of this, Auir is. Auir, are you siding with him? Why? After all this time I've RP'd with you, and you know I create good characters! That's not fair!) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
(It's not about fairness. I know what fair is. I know what being a judge is like. I have to deal with these kind of cases many times, and there are no right or wrongs to this. Being a judge is to put aside personal feelings and looking at the black and white.
Antvasima is saying that your OC wouldn't fit well in an RP where it's supposedly going to be OVA 4, it won't fit in with Kajishima's vision of Tenchi Muyo. Which, no. It really doesn't fit with an envisioned OVA 4.
I never claimed any characters, I was just NPCing. However what Antvasima should have done was claim a character if he was going to play them.
So there is a solution, make it not an envisioned OVA 4. Change this RP to something else. And that would probably fix the problem. We're going to branch off another storyline, not going with the main flow.
Antvasima, if you are going to RP. Claim your characters first. No RPers will be forced into not being able to rp. My rules stated that a character can't be too... Ugh, curse my English. Straying off from the main path? If there is a slight chance of making it work, we'll bend the story to fit everyone in.
Paladin303, don't overreact.
And both of you, please don't insult each other.
And now we need a new name. And a plot. If there are no suggestions, I'll make one off the top of my head.)
(Well, perhaps I should pull out, not being as familiar with things as you guys...kinda hurts, though.)
(Okay, I haven't done this before, and should have checked the rules better. I thought that anybody could write any character. I still don't see the point of writing in a lot of mismatched OCs though.)
(Look...I'll pull out...Play the RP the way you guys want. Apparently, I'm a terrible writer. I guess my somewhat popularity in having written or in the process of writing 11 popular fan fictions on FanFic.net, almost all with original characters, is a fluke. I guess suck at writing and making characters. Have fun with this RP.)
Vasilev shot himself, and thus perished Romanov.
I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, and apologise that I messed up. I apparently misunderstood and thought that this was some kind of collaborative story that we were supposed to turn funny in the usual Tenchi fashion. :-\
There is nothing wrong with your character. He just doesn't fit in at the Tenchi setting in the Japanese countryside.
After seeing too many mismatched (as opposed to well-fitting) OCs I still think that it is a funny notion to have the characters chase them off though. We could make a collaborative story on that theme, with increasingly outlandish OCs swarming them. ;)
The concept for him was this: he was retired, and really wanted no more of fighting. He figured a nice cabin in the Japanese countryside would be good, not realizing who his neighbors were, and the craziness that developed from it--the fish out of water scenario. That can create some of the best laughs. That was the whole point of this. Now, would there be a way in that case to fit him in?
(Anything is possible. So, we just need to think of a way. To get him into the bubble?
Umm... Some unknown organization launches a massive operation to kidnap so and so and Vasilev somehow gets caught in it and manages to find so and so on a certain pirate ship and escapes with so and so???? Ideas anyone????)
(Sounds like a good plot, as long as it goes along with what you had intended.)
(I came up with that on the spot. ^^'. Is it fine with everyone, I feel like it could be better."
(As long as it goes with the OAV you planned to follow, I have no prob. Do what you like.)
(It's no longer OVA. Because if it was, it wouldn't have any OCs. Most likely new characters from the other families or some ancient rival nemesis of Jurai or something. Basically, nothing down to Earth.)
(Is that okay with you?)
(Yeah, it's okay.)
(Start over, or just backtrack to where Ryoko first goes to his place?)
(Whatever is fine with everybody.)
I guess we have to wait for the other player?)
(Let's take it back to Ryoko going to the house...and remember: it is understanding that he would be frightened seeing a flying woman. That's just something you don't see everyday!)
(How about, a neighborhood visit? New person moves in and pops in to say 'hi'. Then the mess as the Tenchi household tries to mask their alienage.)
(That might be better.)
Once he had a moment to relax and enjoy the dying rain, he got up to meet the neighbors. He decided to walk, enjoying the peace and quiet.
(Antvasima, I'm assuming you claimed Ryoko, Ayeka, and Tenchi.)
Sasami was humming cheerfully to herself as she prepared Tenchi's lunchbox.
Du! Du! Du!
Went the knife as she chopped up the onions.
"And now the eggs~" she hummed as she got the eggs from the fridge.
He spotted the interesting house by the lake, (I assume they are by a lake,) and he walked up and looked for the doorbell.
(I guess I need to do more...)
He found the bell and rang it.
"Hm? Aeka-neechan? Ryoko-neechan? Can you get that? Someone's at the door." Sasami called out from the kitchen. She cracked two eggs into the bowl and added in a tablespoon of soy sauce before beating it.
Vasiliev began to examine the house as he waited for an answer.
"Geez, those two. Watching TV all day." sighed Sasami as she put down the bowl and chopsticks.
"Coming!" she called out as she switched slippers and slid open the door.
"Ah...das vidanya!" he said in Russian, and then remembered himself and said with thick Russian accent, "Ohio Gozimas."
"Ohio gozaimasu." bowed Sasami.
"Are you looking for someone?" she asked, wondering who he was. He certainly didn't look like one of those salesmen that would come from time to time. And she never heard of such a weird accent before... Perhaps it was a friend of Tenchi's?
"I am Vasiliev Romanov," said the red-haired, well fit man. he was wearing blue jeans and a polo shirt with sneakers, looking relaxed and casual, "I have retired from my work and have move here to enjoy retirement. Army pay me well, and I was smart and invested. Now, I set and looking forward to peace. I just want to introduce myself and meet my new neighbors. Tell me not you head of house...or is mother and father here?"
"Oh, umm. Tenchi-niisan is out right now. I was just preparing his lunch. If you want to wait, I could take you to go meet him when I bring him his lunchbox." replied Sasami.
"Okay, that would be nice of you," he answered, "I want to get to know the local town anyway."
"I'll be done soon so please wait inside." she smiled as she stepped to the side to let him in.
He was about to step in, but then remembered about Japanese tradition and removed his sneakers.
"This way please." said Sasami as she lead him to the living room where Ryoko and Ayeka were watching their daily Korean drama.
"Wait here please and make yourself at home. I'll be done in a few minutes." smiled Sasami as she headed back to the kitchen.

(Antvasima, I'm assuming you claimed Ryoko, Ayeka, and Tenchi.)
(Nah, I'm not suited for roleplaying. If you want to write a collaborative goofball story, I might be able to help out though.)
(Looks like I have Tenchi, though I only know what I have read about his personality.)
Tenchi was in town, looking for a new Yukata kimono.
(Yukata or Kimono?)
"And there! Done." smiled Sasami as she scraped the fried rice into the bento box. Carefully, she fit the lid on and wrapped the whole thing with a piece of cloth. She then stuck a pair of chopsticks underneath the knot. Taking off her apron, she grabbed the bento and went into the living room.
(Yukata.)
Romanov then said, "So, where should your...is he father or brother?"
"My ne- I mean brother." she replied.
"Are you ready to go? He should be out in the carrot fields right about now." said Sasami while looking at the clock.
With new Yukata, he headed out to the field.
___________________
He wasn't sure what the "Ni-" was all about, but he followed anyway.
(What WAS that about?)
(Sorry, I meant nephew)
And on they went, following the brown dirt road toward the carrot fields. Sasami was half-skipping and humming.
He smiled, finding Joy in the child's joy.
(Out of the loop for a few hours, but I should be back later.)
"Strange, you don't look like you come from Japan."
"Ah- hahaha, I'm actually a foreigner." laughed Sasami dryly.
"Indeed, as am I," he answered, "Though I would say you act very Japanese."
"I grew up here with my big brother after all." she smiled warmly.
"You must have interesting story, then," stated Vasiliev, "What brought your family here at such young age?"
"Young age? A-ahh, yeah. Umm, well. My parents had to go overseas to work and... So they sent me and my sister to live with my brother." replied Sasami while looking away.
"A sister? And who might that be?"
"Oh, you met her in the living room. She's the one with the long purple hair." she pointed out.
"She not say much."
"Ahaa, well. Those two really get caught up in their dramas." she half laughed and half sighed.
"Anyway, I like this country...very quite...not much drama. I like the lake, too. It sits by my new home as well."
"Yes, it's a wonderful place isn't it." she smiled, looking away and at the countryside.
"You seem quite taken with it. You seem to like looking around. You no look at me, yes?"
"Hm?" she seemed to ask, with upturned eyes and a smile that never goes away.
He just laughed and patted her on the head as Tenchi could see them approach. "Sasami-Chan...Hi...hey...oy! Who are you!"
"Worry not, friend," he said with a warm smile and reassuring voice, "I am new neighbor, yes? Vasiliev Romanov...I just move in today, and wanted to meet neighbors!"
"Is he safe?" he asked Sasami.
(Have to call it for the bed time. Catch you later!)
"Safe? Yeah, he is." smiled Sasami.
"This is our new neighbor, he just moved in nearby."
He looked him over a time or two and said, "Well, I guess it's okay, considering that Sasami-chan trusts you and all."
"Hmm... Interesting!"
The Greatest Genius Scientist in the Universe hadn't been completely unaware of the arrival of the foreigner. Minutes ago, a house-monitoring console in her lab had informed her that the Masaki house had visitors, and she had been quick to spy on them.
Or him.
"No doubt about it. Military if anything, and probably elite as well." she said, coming out of her flashback.
She stood in the back door of the Romanov's cabin, staring at the firing range and wondering just how privileged Vaseliev must be to have gotten one erected in Okayama.
"Interesting indeed!" she exclaimed. She turned and made her way quickly back toward the house.
(Good start!)
(Chan is only added when being addressed.)
"Tenchi-niisan. Dozo, obento~" said Sasami as she held out the lunchbox she had prepared for him.
"Domo," he said as he took it. He found a clear spot, gave thanks for the food, and began to eat. His eyes rolled in delight as he ate and said, "As always, your cooking is the best!"
She just smiled happily at the sound of that.
"Thanks!" she said, hands behind her back.
"So," he said to Vasiliev between bites, "What brings you to Japan?"
"Well," he said pondering, "I was in army, had good career, but got old after while. I decide to retire, and thought Japanese countryside good place for it. I could have gone to Cossack country, but, I seen that before."
Mihoshi had been called away to the Galaxy Police headquarters, to hand in a report and rendevous with some colleagues. She headed home on Yukinojo, descending down to the planet.
"Mihoshi..." Yukinojo sweat dropped.
"Yes?"
"We're... going to crash... again..."
"Oh.."
*SPLASH*
(Would they be able to see that in the lake from where they are?)
Tenchi sighed as Vasiliev got wide-eyed. He didn't see reentry, but he heard and saw the splash. What made matters worse was that no one seemed too surprised at this.
"'I wouldn't want to be a Cossack headed for that Palestine Road
Thinking about what's written in the-' Huh?" Washuu ceased to sing. "Oh, hello, Ryo-ohki."
The genius had been nearing the house when the cabbit distracted her from her song.
"And what is it you want, Ryo-chan?"
"Mya-m-mya-mya!"
"Uh-huh."
"Mya-may-meyow?"
"Yeah."
"Meow m-myaa."
"Okay, sure. I'll make sure to do just that, thank you!"
Red hair disappeared around the corner as Ryo-Ohki watched her mother/creator head for the carrot field.
"Me...meyao?" She pondered, wondering who the strange man was she had seen talking to Tenchi and Sasami in the carrot field.
And a light "rain" began to fall from the crash-landing of Yukinojo.
[Note: the lyrics are from Chich Girard's "The Cossack Song"]
"Um...does anyone want check that out?" he said, stunned, "Meteor or something just fall into lake."
Mihoshi luckily managed to survive and swim ashore, uniform now soaked to the bone. Every inch of her was wet as she lay on the dock with slight exhaustion.
"Oh my... what am I going to do now?"
She thought back to her meeting with Hakua, her green-haired assistant, who made her nice tea and told her of her ex-partner Kiyone's recent triumphs.
Suddenly she heard coughing as a person passed out next to her... Hakua had followed her here.
"This strange...I go check it out..."
"NO...um, it's okay," said Tenchi, "Nothing for you to worry about."
Tenchi was not sure he was ready to know everything yet, if he needed to know at all.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about it TOO much!" Washuu cackled as she seemed to pop up out of nowhere behind Vasiliev.
Because of military instinct, he snapped around, and had her on the ground in a sambo hold before anyone could blink. Tenchi just stared, shocked, and he suddenly realized what he had done, apologizing, but not yet letting go.
"Funny thing, physics," Washuu stated, now sitting on the Russian.
"it allows for all sorts of fun!"
[she had teleported]
"AAAAAAAAAHHHH!" he said, now trying to scramble out from underneath her, terrified at what he had just seen. Tenchi had just face-palmed, saying, "So much for easing him into things."
(I am guessing Sasami would be acting the same way, considering she didn't want to let things on yet either.)
"Tenchi." The redhead addressed the teenager as she stood. "We'd best get some elementary things out of the way first, ne? Oh, and
And, Vasiliev... AT EASE."
He immediately snapped to, stopped, remembered where he was, and said, "Vait...how you know my name!"
Washuu gave the ex-soldier a pat on the arm. "Vasiliev... take a seat."
He turned a touch ugly and said, "I no trust you."
As the scientist descended to the ground and found a comfortable knoll-ette to sit on, she asked the man an important question.
"Maybe so, but I doubt you've ever had the luxury of 'trust'"
She grinned. "how much do you WANT to know?"
Mihoshi had dried out a smidge, sitting up, when she heard a booming voice from behind her.
"Mihoshi, look what you've done. You really need to learn how to not crash every single time..." complained Noike with a sigh, eyeing the smaller woman, "What's... she doing here?"
Hakua stood up and bowed excitedly, "You must be Noike-chan!"
"...-Chan? Hi, Hakua.." greeted Noike back.
"I'm sorry, Noike," apologized Mihoshi with a slight sniffle, " I guess Hakua followed me along... (who knows how long she'd been hiding on her ship...)"
"Noike-chan!"
Hakua hugged the woman, making her feel a tad uncomfortable, "So... when can we send her back?"
"I suppose I'll have to take her back when I have patrol again Tuesday night... If I have a spaceship."
"Well, come inside and change. I have chores for you.. both.. to do," Noike sighed again as Mihoshi followed her in.
"Are you sure that's wise?" asked Tenchi, "I mean, should an outsider know this much?"
"Hey, now, don't alienate him so much, Tenchi." The scientist countered.
"Vasiliev. My name is Washuu Hakubi," She began, offering a hand to shake, "and I can assure you on a scientist's honor that you are in no harm. Especially compared to your obvious history as a soldier of some sort!" she joked.
[she can tell he's been in the military, but not specifically how/what.]
He warily extended his hand and shook it saying, "Vat makes me curious is how you know my name? How much you know?"
[adorable Washuu time!]
Washuu let loose one of those beautiful laughs she has saved for special occasions.
"I asked first! How much do you want to know?" she retorted, winking.
"Enough I don't get my throat slit at night," he said cautiously, "Have made lots enemies in my time, especially in Chechnya. That one in Bezlan not go so well."
"That's an impossible request, Vasiliev. You're asking me to tell you trust."
She smiled again.
"Well, how about this: The Cat-Rabbit you might see hopping around here is actually a sapient hybrid I created a long time ago. She told me your name, in a way."
:o
"......"
"You act like you from other planet."
Washuu looked at Vasiliev with a mock-insulted look.
"And how would you know?"
"No one on earth ever make something like that...beyond us."
"If you say so." The redhead said, rolling her eyes.
"How about this, ya' old g.i., I tell you one thing about us, and you tell us one thing about you and your history? That way you've got as much dirt on us as we've got on you. Safe all around, right?"
Her eyes leveled at the Russian with a twinkle and a daring look.
He smirked and said, "I start: I was Spetsnaz."
"I'll go check on Mihoshi to see if she's alright Tenchi-niisan!" Sasami called out as she began running back to the house.
Ooh!" Washuu exclaimed. "We might get along quite well."
A pause.
"And... ah! Fact: that was a Galaxy Police space shuttle that just landed causing the sonic boom."
She waited another silent minute.
"What, you think space goes unpatrolled? Where'd you come from earth?" she joked with a laugh.
Tenchi let her go, just staring lost at the conversation. This was still a bit of sensory overload, but his training partially readied him for some of this, and he said, "I was at the Bezlan school incident."
[Two questions. A: who spoke? B: The Beslan school hostage crisis didn't occur until 2004, but it's only about 1995 in the Tenchi continuity unless someone wanted it changed. That's okay, just pointing that out.]
(A: Vasiliev...B: thought we were moving everything up...)
(This is 30 year old Tenchi. Kenshi is in Geminar right now, but we might bring him and his gang back here if the plot requires it.)
(Good, then Beslan happened.)
"Even if there is logic behind landing in the lake, who couldn't Mihoshi have chosen one farther away?" sighed Ayeka who was interrupted during the middle of her drama.
"Beslan?" Tenchi said said, "Please forgive me if I sound like some country bumpkin, but I've...been out of the loop from time to time. What was that all about?"
"Oh, just a Russian school shooting a couple years ago."
She didn't bother to gauge the Masaki's reaction.
"So Vasiliev, what was it like? I mean, I've been in a couple similar situations as well, but I've always wondered what a survivor of such a scenario could tell. Did they really pull in *tanks*, or was that just media hype and the internet?"
Aside, to Tenchi, she asked if he was nearly done with gardening for the day.
"We did have them at the ready, but sadly, by the time we could react, they had the place well fortified, bombs everywhere, it was a no-win situation. People were going to die, period. All we could do is do our best to reduce the body count as much as we could. We lost many good men on the day of the seige. Of the over 1,000 held, over 900 escaped alive. All the terrorists were dead. Considering how it could have gone, it was considered success...but it no feel like it."

(It starts at 3 minutes and three seconds.)
Washuu stopped and looked down with a sigh; then stood up and nodded.
"You are in good company," she paused before adding "Comrade."
Genuine understand showed in the ancient's eyes for a second before she turned and took half a step away from the fields.
"Well? You coming, oldy? I've got some people to introduce you to!"
He smirked and said, "Of course."
He was beginning to like the kid, and Tenchi, sad from the story, took up what was left of his bento and followed to the house.
"Tenchi~ You're back early... Just when I wanted to see you." said Ryoko as she teleported behind Tenchi and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Again, he rolled his eyes as the rest were coming, Vasiliev in tow, finding some kind of kinship in Washu, though he didn't know why.
"Hey, Tenchi~ You will comfort me later tonight won't you?" Ryoko flew in front of him to look at him straight in the eyes.
"Ryoko! Please, we have guests here!" exclaimed Ayeka.
(Outside of pirate hantai, they don't...do...each other, do they?)
(By that time... Well, it's not clearly explained but. It's pretty safe to say that he did nearly all of them already. >.> But Noike definitely.)
(Ouch! He's probably one worn out hound! Every one but Sasami...I hope...)
"Please, he's going to think I have a harem, or sex slaves or...something..."
(She's an adult by then. Well, she looks like an adult.)
"Hm?" Ryoko said, acknowledging the presence of a guest.
"Who are you?"
(You mean...he has...ewwww!)
"Das Vit!" he said, (Russian Greeting,) "I am Vasiliev Romanov."
(Surprised the name "Romanov" hasn't tipped anyone off.)
(She's 500 and 17 something years old! And no, he hasn't. I think... Most likely...)
"Ah, I'm Ryoko." she said while hanging onto Tenchi.
(They're aliens...)
"Ah...is your girlfriend or wife, da?"
"Yes, I'm his beloved first wife..." sighed Ryoko, rubbing up against his arm.
He was trying to pull away as Vasiliev got an odd look on his face, saying, "First...wife?"
"Oh quiet lying, Tenchi hasn't agreed to marrying us yet." snapped Ayeka. (I think..)
(As far as we know, though I heard one person say he married Sasami...though I doubt that...)
"Vell...a love triangle, no?"
(Probably one of the doujins or mangas. There is one where he married Sasami, but Sasami died soon after childbirth. Have Tenchi respond to that, he already knows how to handle them quite well.)
"Hey," he said, "Look...you know you bunch are hard to make a choice, and you keep making it hard. Why don't you go do something...to prove your worth...or...something...I want to help make Vasiliev feel at home."
However, Romanov was eyeing Ayeka a bit more than the others. He felt a kinship for Washu, but not romantically. This one, however...
"And...may I ask who this beauty is," asked Vasiliev, taking Ayeka's hand and kissing it as a gentleman would.
She let him kiss her hand.
"I am Ayeka, the First Princess of Jurai." said with a high and mighty tone.
"Vasiliev Romanov," he said, all respectful, "...your highness. I was with Russian army, but retired."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Sir Romanov." she nodded, slowly withdrawing her hand.
He released it gently, and said, "Oh...vee are past knighting in my country. Vee haven't had a czar since 1917."
"Oh, and that would be..." Ayeka began, looking behind her.
"We were still in hibernation then." said Sasami with a laugh.
"Hi...ber..." but he stopped, already knowing that these people were not ordinary. he then said, "Da...vas long time ago. Vas a revolution...communists take over, but not really change much. Nothing change until 1993 or so...ven communism fell, and we became federation. Odd, though, people have joked about my last name, think I related to last czar, but I not so sure."
"Ahh, so I should be addressing you as Lord Romanav..." she replied.
He laughed a touch again and said, "Again, I have no way of knowing if I related or not. Romanov common name."
"I wonder if there would be a way for Washu to find out?" asked Tenchi off-hand, not knowing what he was setting up.
The red-head scientist held her head in one hand and sighed. 'At least he's taking well to their blathering. Let's just hope he missed what he needed to.' She straightened up and replied.
"I think a couple online sources and the American Library of Congress could answer that question for me. Don't you know I'm not a walking omnipedia?" She smirked at Tenchi. " I have to study to know things too, you know."
She whispered a quick "В отличие от некоторых людей, которые никогда учиться вообще..." into Vaseliev's ear and jerked a thumb at Ryoko.
He laughed in response, causing the others to stop and stare at him. And at Washuu, who of course, betrayed nothing of her intentions through her unnervingly cute grin.
"Vaseliev," She cut in. "How much of someone's character can you discern from training?"
"К кому вы обращаетесь?" he asked in return, and then he said, "Quite a bit, especially in our training. Vee have training for Spetsnaz rest of world never allow. Vee have to weed out, how you say...the weak sisters."
"Oh, who's this?" asked Yosho, stepping in. He was carrying a wooden sword on him and dressed in his training garments.
He greeted him and said, "Oh...I am Vasiliev Romanov, Master Sergeant...retired. I new neighbor."
"Ah, good of you to join us, Lord Katsuhito." Washuu nodded, noting his usually perfect timing. "And I must say Vasiliev, if that's so..."
She turned on her heel and headed back toward a hill-crest aside of the route between the house and the field.
"Это может быть сделано, товарищ!" she called, turning half-back. "Come on, you people! It's not like you had anything going on that you couldn't save for later."
As the others began to follow, she explained.
"We've got a guest, don't we? Well, I'd hope with all the life experiences we've got we can agree that a little healthy competition is a great way to get to know someone." She stopped at a level spot.
"Isn't that right, Darling Ryoko?"
"Vat you have in mind?" he asked, following.
Washuu cackled light. "Nothing new."
"Vat dis have to do vit training?"
"Heh, you're asking me to fight him?" grinned Ryoko, still hanging onto Tenchi's back.
"Yeah...I hardly think that would be fair," he said, doing what he could to ignore her and walk along.
"Character, my good Romanov. You can trust a person with good character, right?"
She reached into a pocket (and into a conveniently hidden sub-space hole) and produced what looked like to cloth patches.
"Vaseliev, you wouldn't happen to believe that a person is inferior if they are a женщина?"
"Bah!" he said, "Vomen...men...is all same to us...never philosophy under communism, and dat never go avay."
(Thank God for Google Translate!)
"Good man!" Washuu exclaimed, giving the Russian a hearty slap on the back. (In hand *had* been one of the cloth pieces.)
"Ryoko, you said..." she taunted, danging the tiny 'cloth' patch.
"You mean I can-"
"-put this on the back of Ayeka's outfit. Okay?"
Noting the confused look on her daughter's face as the ex-pirate agreed, she explained.
"Do you think," She began, addressing the Romanov, "that you could pin down Ayeka?"
"I judge not veemen, but, isn't she bit small?"
"Eh?" blinked Ayeka, looking at Washu.
"Who is he fighting withe exactly?"
"She vant me fight you!" he said, a little disparaged.
Ryoko smacked the Princess in the back with the sticky-patch.
"Gee I dunno." Maybe the one with the pressure-sensitive wireless pad on her back!" She smirked.
"Good observation, Ryoko."
"But is this fair? I mean, voman or not, she real small. I no want to hurt anyone."
"Ah, c'mon, Romanov! I'll bet you a crate of Kulich you can't get her on her back!" retorted the scientist as she grinned.
He looked a Ayeka and said, "You really vant do this?"
"I suppose if everyone is insisting on it." she sighed, changing to her battle clothing.
Washuu took a moment to hear the whole universe face-palm.
(just kidding)
The scientist promptly face-palmed at the princess's sudden show of alien nature.
"Well, now ya' know she's not ordinary at least, right?"
He shuddered and said, "Vat rules...Greco-Roman...freestyle?"
"Rules? Simple. Have fun!"
She backed away from the two reluctant contestants, paused, and added "oh, and the first to land on their back hard enough is the... not-winner, okay?"
"I put those patches there for a reason," she muttered after the two had nodded.
"Not...veener?" he asked, "Dat sound like judo."
Ayeka charged straight at him, though it was more like a float-charging. Her arm was drawn back, ready to punch.
Washuu's eyes popped open wide.
"Hey! Ayeka! Go easy on him!"
Vasiliev knew how to handle something like that. He seemed totally relaxed and not tense at all. He was waiting for the arrival of the punch.
Washuu's perception of time seemed to slow down as she took note of the Russian's response and poise. Now from her eyes, then through Ryoko's, then her perspective again...
The Russian's eyes. and his mind, showed her that being relaxed in this way during a fight was trained into and ingrained into him from his training.
In slow motion, her punch inched toward his face. Though, she wasn't twisting her body or putting in any real strength behind her punch. She knew it would kill him if she did so she held back, hoping to maybe knock him out.
The ancients smiled.
(old guys. Washuu, Yosho. Maybe Ryoko)
Despite his relaxed state, he was able, like lightning, to turn his upper torso so that she missed and that her arm was not resting on his chest. Just as quick, he chopped his left arm into the bend of her elbow downward while snatching her wrist with his right hand thrusting upward. He then turned his whole body so it would pull her off balance, slid his arm around and hooked her face as he put a palm into her solar plexus and pushed her hard towards the ground.
(and now, Ayeka, don't forget that you are really inhumanly strong...)
"Oof!" Ayeka fell against the ground, surprised to see Vasiliev above her.
(What does strong have to do with being flipped off one's feet? All strength is rendered useless the moment one loses the base to push off of.)
(Then, just say it wasn't forceful enough and go from there.)
(She can FLY, and she could lift him up with a pinky, right?)
(Yes, she could fly. But she lost didn't she?)
(Look...here's what you do...use her power of flight to stop her inches from the ground, and then counter what he did.)
(My advice: be creative, have fun, and maintain story stability. 'Cause I've got to go to bed.)
(Catch you next time.)
(I'm trying to make it so that he could win, geez... But fine.)
"It's not over." said Ayeka. Ryoko was in the ground and staring at the space beneath her.
"She's right." Ayeka then grabbed him and flew into the sky.
(We just didn't want it to end so quick...)
"Hey, you hurt me if vee hit ground!"
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you'll survive. Haah!" she flipped him over and began to speed toward the ground with her hand on his chest.
He tried to convert that into a triangle leg lock on her head using that same arm and tried to flip her around.
However they just kept falling toward the ground, with her hand there to make sure he hits the ground first. Though part of the falling seemed a bit artificial now, as if influenced.
"Sorry 'bout this, but nothing personal..." he said, reaching up, and finding a certain spot on her ribs that, when pressed, hurt a lot!
(Assuming Juraian autonomy is similar to human beings...)
She instinctively let him go and gasped. Eyes widened, she began to reach for him. Since now she couldn't slow him down in time when they come in contact with the ground.
"Hey, vait...vie I fall faster!"
A couple feet away from the ground, Ryoko came up and caught him.
"Hey, this getting crazy! Never been trained for this!"
"Whew, that surprised me. You really would've gotten hurt if Ryoko didn't catch you." said Ayeka.
"I must say, you stronger than you look."
She blinked a couple times, not sure what he meant. Then she realized that by human standards, this wasn't normal.
"Oh, well thank you."
"I can say, I had respect for you before...have more now...you good fighter!"
"And so are you, that move took me by surprise. If I hadn't reacted fast enough, I would have lost." smiled Ayeka as she changed back.
"It part of training," he said, "It once secret of communist Russia, but now is being taught worldwide. Perhaps I teach you?"
"Oh, no thank you. There was a reason why I turned down my mother's offer." she politely rejected.
"And this vould reflect mothers offer somehow?"
"Mother is the Head of the Royal Guards!" commented Sasami from the side.
"Ah...you sisters then..." he said, and then he said, "But it's just learn new style of fight. Nothing more to it than that."
"Yes, but I must decline. I'm a princess and it does not fit my image to be fighting all the time." she replied.
"Bah...In Russia, everyone can fight. Vee nation of warriors. Even daughters of czars, though very ladylike, all know how to fight! Is way of Russian. The enemy has never seen our backs."
"Ahh, well..." she looked toward Tenchi for help.
"Well, you see...the princess is...she has protectors...she doesn't need..."
"Ah...you her protector then?"
Washuu noticed Yosho's smirk as the two old ones watched the scenario approvingly. She chuckled.
"Hey! You two!"
The combatants turned.
"I didn't hear any buzzer go of; did you?" she said, cracking a grin.
"Vat...you act like we need fight more?"
"A-hah!" The scientist cackled. She walked over to Ayeka and poked her in the back.
>BZZT!<
"Nope. You win, Romanov-san." she declared, to the slight chagrin of Ayeka.
"Also, though you stand in the presence of royalty, please do not feel as if you are obligated to be formal in any way. Though you already seem to have assumed this, I reassure you that pretty much all of us have one reason or another to dislike formality."
She gestured as she listed off the people standing around. "Lord Katsuhito-Yosho, someone you'll have to sit down with over tea; his grandson Tenchi; Ayeka and Sasami of the royal house of Jurai, normal "unnormal" people like you and me; and my daughter Ryoko."
She paused, as if finished.
"OH!" She cranked up the cute level to eleven. "And... call me Washuu-Chan, okay?"
"How I vin?" he said, "And you vant I talk to you so familiar?"
(Ah, 'cmon, is Washuu always the explainer around here? ;) )
(Yes she is. She's a scientist and ex-professor after all. >.>)
He awaited the answer.
(cop-outs)
The scientist looked the Russian dead in the eye for a second before smirking hintingly.
"Vaseliev... do you think you're the only one to escape a boring or hectic life by coming here to Japan?" She asked and winked.
"That aside, an excuse is needed for you to come over for lunch, and anyone who's capable of beating Ayeka is worthy of a familiar feast, no?"
She turned to the Masaki of the house.
"Hey, Tenchi. Think you and Noike could make a trip into town and pick up a sac of beets?"
(beets are used in making borscht, a soup commonly found in Ukraine, Russia, and east Europe. Tenchi might not know that, but Sasami...)
Tenchi scratched his head but complied. It seemed weird that this kid seemed to have something for him a touch, though he only saw her as a friend. His eye was really on Ayeka.
"Hm? Are we making borscht tonight?" asked Sasami.
His eyes lit up! "Borscht! You can make that?"
"Mm hmm." she nodded. She then turned to face Tenchi and smiled.
"I'll go with you Tenchi." said Sasami.
He nodded, trying to pry himself free from Ryoko. Vasiliev then said, "Please, Miss Ayeka...you must tell me of your home."
Ryoko finally let go.
"My home? What would you like to know about?" she asked a bit surprised.
Tenchi went with them as he said, "Vell, I never meet out of space girl before. Your home must be fascinating."
"I suppose by your standards it would be fascinating." she said as she began to head for the house.
He followed up and said, "You must tell me of it."
Washuu eyes went O_O for a second, but she closed them quickly and turned, unnoticed.
"Mi... Mihoshi." She mumbled.
"Eheh. If you two will excuse me, I think I forgot something." She interjected to the remainder of the group, and she promptly began to walk back to the house.
"I suppose telling you wouldn't hurt, what would you like to know about my home?" she asked.
"Well, I mean, is whole planet one people, or do you have nations like us?"
"The whole planet is one people of course." she replied.
"Hmm, in your point of view. Jurai would be considered the capital and the rest of the planets would be considered as provinces."
"You have several? Different cultures on each, or all the same?"
"Different? The same of course. Where would the others come from?"
"From whatever they had before they came to be part of you."
"From whatever they had before? What do you mean, there was nothing there before us. We colonized the planets."
"Ah...okay...I see now!" he said grinning, "Vat kind of things you do for fun there...sports...entertainment...dat kind of thing."
Her eyes looked upwards and her face went into a thinking pose.
"Entertainment... I would not really know, I mostly stayed inside the palace." she replied after thinking for a bit.
"Oh...well, I have always been fascinated by the way other cultures like to have fun. I am sure you must have thought our sports, for example, interesting...no?"
"Hmm, your sports is a little interesting... I believe Ryoko was once scouted by an intergalactic recruiter for baseball once." Ayeka took off her shoes as she entered the house and put on her sandals.
He took off his sneakers, only having his socks, and followed. He then said, "It would be interesting to know. Russians always love sports...used to dominate Olympics."
"Olympics? Oh, the world-wide sports event you have here." Ayeka headed into the living room and reached for the remote.
"Of course," he said, Would it not be interesting if your empire had such games between planets?"
"Oh, we aren't the ones hosting such games. There are dozens of other planets that host interplanetary games. We have too much on our hands."
"Vat would that be?"
"Sorry, royal secrets." Ayeka held a long slender finger to her mouth.
He grinned at her, and said, "So, vat you do all day here?"
(An eventual goal is to find out he does have a direct tie to the Romanov line, though not direct through Alexander, because he and his whole family were wiped out in the revolution.)
"We share the chores and spend the rest of the time watching television." she said, a bit embarrassed.
"Vatch...television...have you ever considered taking trips in woods? Nothing more I like than hiking through nature, living in it for few days, enjoying what it has: fishing, hunting, enjoying its beauty. Sure beats combat!"
"We usually go whenever Lord Tenchi has a break. Sometimes we go to the beach or maybe visit the mountains." she stopped as if she just remembered something.
"Ah, how rude of me. I almost forgot. Please wait here while I bring some tea." said Ayeka, standing up.
He gave her leave, examining her backside for the first time.
He back was straight as a backboard, possible due to her upbringing and her hips would lightly sway from side to side as she walked.
He was definitely liking the girl now, not just her mind, but she had a kicking body that reminded him of a fit gymnast...a build he also liked.
A few moments later, she came back with a tray of seaweed wrapped crackers and green tea.
"Please help yourself." she said, setting them down on the table.
"Spiseebwa!" he said...the Russian for "Thank you."
"Your welcome." she nodded, sitting down and helping herself to a cup.
"Then, I think a camping and hunting trip is in order."
"Camp...ing?" she blinked.
"I suppose, but we have to ask Lord Tenchi first."
"Of course...and what I mean is that we get some tents, cots, gear for living off the land, fishing poles, and if we hunt, some 20 gauge shotguns to hunt small game...no need for something big if vee only be out there a few days."
"I'm afraid guns are banned for civilians in Japan. Where would you get the shotguns?" she asked.
"I have special license," he answered, "I have been allowed this...but cost me many rubles. I have a collection back at cabin."
"Interesting. Then now we just need to wait for the others and ask for their opinions."
"So...to whom is Tenchi attached. Ryoko seemed very friendly vis him."
"All of us." she replied.
"It took us quite some time to accept each other, but we managed." she took another sip.
He stared at her for a moment, and said, "You ALL married to him! They allow for polygamy in Japan?"
"No, we're not married. Not yet anyway. There are still problems due to the royal blood." said Ayeka.
"And we'll most likely get married on Jurai. They don't allow polygamy here."
"Then, what do you mean all you girls are his? Furthermore...you are engaged?"
His heart dropped.
"We all love him. And yes, in a way we are engaged." she smiled a bit at the thought.
"Oh... But, then why do you allow this Ryoko to hang all over him?"
"We agree on a schedule and system of who gets to have him on which day." she said as a matter of factly while sipping her tea.
"Forgive me for sounding rude...but does...that include...you know...other *ahem* favors?"
She looked at him as if he was a pervert.
"Please, forgive me...it was just by her behavior and how you said you share..."
"I'm not exactly comfortable answering those type of questions."
"Then...I vood be extremely jealous, especially if she doing him favors."
Again, she stared at him as if he was a pervert.
"Ah, such 'small talk'" Washuu cackled. Sitting in her lab, she could hear their every word as she analyzed the tissue sample she had taken from the hand of the unknowing "Romanov" when they had greeted each other.
She turned down the volume a little so as to concentrate on her data-crunching and research.
"But... not tooquiet, hah!" She cackled.
(Note: he is royalty, and he has an ability, but we have not yet decided what that should be, or how he is to discover it.)
"Sorry...I...well..." he turned red faced.
"I'll... Go check up on Washu and see how the results are coming along..." said Ayeka as she stood up and headed for the door leading to Washu's lab.
He quickly got up and said, "Please forgive me...my father taught me how to be better gentleman than that..."'
He looked a touch ashamed of himself.
She stopped and nodded a 'I understand' before going into the lab.
He let her go and went back to the tea.
"Ms. Washu?" Ayeka called out, poking her head into the lab.
"Ms. Washu, are you there?" she called out again, fully opening the door and stepping in.
'Cluttered as always....' she thought to herself as she eyed the piles of inventions and machines everywhere.
(oh, come on, Washuu is not unorganized! :/ )
"Hang on a sec, Lady Ayeka. Just stand there, okay?" came the voice of the Scientist from [litterally] nowhere.
(she isn't visible at the moment)
She stopped and looked around, hands clasped together in front of her. She looked around and wondered what was going on and hoped she wasn't about to be the subject of another experiment.
A yellow, round, two-"eyed" device silently descended onto the princess' head just as four feet of red hair backed out of a portal door. Followed by the scientist, who was pulling a large, odd, flat... well, something. (Not really something that a human, or Ayeka, for that matter, would bother to try to figure out what it was, but it's not related anyways.)
"Hold on." Washuu reassured that fidgeting princess. She aimed a scanner of sorts in the general direction of Ayeka while poking and tugging at the "something odd".
The unit on the princess's head registered a beeping noise, declaring any analysis finished, and it ascended back into the somewhere that it had come from. Wahuu's attention returned to the device in her hand, and an expression of surprise landed on her face before it slid back into her scientific smirk.
"Okay! That's all," she concluded, tossing the sub-scanner device into a pocket dimension. "What was it you wanted me for, Ayeka?"
Her face was still perplexed by what she just saw, but she shook it off.
"I was wondering what were the results considering our guest's lineage?"
"Really, honestly? ... I don't know."
The scientist smirked as the princess face-vaulted.
"HOWEVER... You yourself have just given me some interesting data concerning him which you have mentioned."
She began to pull the flat, papery thing again, but it didn't move much.
"Mattaku. I forgot gravity is less there." She paused again. "Ne, Ayeka-dono, could you help me out with this for a moment?"
"Sure..." frowned Ayeka.
"What do you need me to do?"
A door appeared opposite of the portal she had entered through.
"...help me drag this thing into the next lab? I forgot to compensate for the gravitational difference between lab planets."
"Hai..." she said hesitantly. Walking over, she grabbed the flat papery thing and began to drag it.
They hefted it, with some difficulty. through the opposite portal.
'Can't believe I forgot the gravity difference. That's not like me at all.' Washuu thought to herself.
They made it through the door and the ambient gravity dropped considerably.
"Ahh. Much better."
(idea: The forgetting about the gravity was originally just something I threw in as an excuse to see if I could make Ayeka ask just what the heck it is Washuu is dragging through hyper-space. However, I now wonder... what if Vaseliev could actually have a psuedo-controllable side-affect on people that makes them forget things?)
(As in his ability?)
"Just.... What is this thing?" asked Aeyka, stretching out her arms.
(Not sure I want that.)
"Eheheh... No clue! It's something I found buried in an old materials archive, and so I've transferred it to this lab for analysis. It probably hasn't been gotten any scientific attention in eight thousand years!"
She crashed into the ground after hearing that.
"Please keep better care of your equipment!" she said with a ^_^*.
"Equipment, nothing! I'd bet you a load of dirty dished that it's just one of many old titanium-fiber painting canvases that Kagato would use when he was feeling artistic."
'and if I'm wrong, then I am FINALLY going to have an excuse to buy or make Tenchi an dishwasher!' she thought to herself.
She let out a sigh while rubbing her temples.
"So what is this 'interesting' data you spoke of?" asked Ayeka.
"Uh?" The scientist had a confused look for a second.
"Oh! You mean on the readout!" she realized, and she began to walk out yet another portal door.
"Walk and talk, princess!" she called back to the one with the purple hair.
"Since you had been talking to our dear Romanov just before coming down, I figured I may as well make a peripheral scan of you," she quieted as she arrived at a console. "And there was any response..."
"'was'? What do you mean by that?" asked Ayeka, confused. She tried to look over at the console and see what was on it.
"Versus was not," Washuu noted to the princess who now looked, dumbfounded, at the seemingly meaningless shapes on the console screen as they flashed, flickered, and moved in their (almost) patterns.
"What? Don't tell me you're interested in the man!" She teased.
"No, of course not! My heart is only large enough for Lord Tenchi~" Ayeka sighed dreamily towards the end, picturing Tenchi in her mind.
"Hello Ayeka, today is your turn." smiled a half-naked Tenchi. His body was ripped with muscles and even sparkling.
"Lord Tenchi~" Ayeka closed her eyes while daydreaming about the day after tomorrow. After a few seconds she shook her head and cleared her throat.
"Ahem... Please explain again what you meant by 'versus was not'."
The ancient marveled both at the youngster's windsome moment as well has her thick head.
"Versus not detecting anything! Versus not having any reaction!"
She shook her head. "I'm just saying that your, shall we say, aura of energies is a bit off-kilter from what it usually is. Could be any of many reasons, but-"
She shoved the data recorder into a base station.
"-MAYBE... it's because of our new neighbor!" she said with a grin.
"Our new neighbor? What could he possibly be doing to... Influence my aura..." she frowned.
"How should I know? I've got a princess I have to attend to and can't seem to get the time to crunch the data, if you know what I mean."
Washuu gave a Cheshire grin.
Ayeka just stared at her and sighed. She began to rub her temples, completely lost from Washus talk.
"Do you even consider what I'm saying to you as important!?" said the irritated red-haired scientist.
"Yes, I do. But you could just be clearer in what you say." replied Ayeka.
"That's the most basic thing I can say about it for right now. Like I said, I haven't had time to crunch the data." replied Washu.
"... Should we do something about him knowing our secret?" asked Ayeka, hanging the subject.
"I wouldn't want our new neighbor to have a sour opinion about us but we can't just hide out and never speak to that person..."
Ayeka began to pace around the lab, her hand on her chin. After making three rounds, she stopped.
"Hmm... Do you perhaps have any device that will make him forget about us when he speaks with others?" asked Ayeka after thinking for a bit.
Washu recalls the original inventions and modified objects shes done in the past year. "I have yet to succeed in making something that could affect someone mentally. If I were to start right now on making an adjustable memory eraser, it'd take 3 months for me to just study machines that change the mind of a person. Then it'd take 6 months to create the blueprints of the invention and then 9 months to build one! Alot can happen in that entire time period. I'd suggest just speaking to him unless you want to take the risk and have me create a memory eraser."
"Really? So the greatest scientific genius in the universe can't create a machine to alter someone's memory? How disappointing." said Ayeka, turning around and facing her back towards Washu. She had a small smile on and was looking at her from the corner of her eye.
The red-haired scientist thought of her ego and then cried out: "I'll start making one now!"
"Heh..." snickered Ayeka to herself.
Washu had begun studying mind-changing machines immediately on her transparent computer. "Oh boy, I'm sure in for a looooong study..."
Ayeka went back to the house, wondering what the others were doing.
Tenchi was just coming back from market with Sasami, and because of the inter-dimensional nature of the lab, it was as if not much time had passed, and Vasiliev was still waiting.
"Tenchi-niisan, do you want to make it today?" asked Sasami.
"Well, I know nothing about Borscht that was offered to our guest, but I know you know."
"Okay!" she nodded as she skipped a couple steps ahead.
They got to the house and Romanov greeted them.
(Gotta go...catch you tomorrow.)
"Hello. I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything." said Sasami as she headed toward the kitchen.
"So...how's Japan been?"
"Interesting...is not everyday you find out neighbors from the cosmos. Is you too?"
"Well, I was born here on earth..." answered Tenchi, rubbing the back of his neck, wondering where help was to answer this.
"Even so, you are a member of the Juraian Royal Family." said Aeyka, entering the room and sitting down on one of the couches.
(And just like that: OVA Washu switches to Universe Washu, and the whole story follows.)
(Eh? ??? We're back upstairs...)
"So, you born on Earth, but from space?"
(Wha?)
(He was saying Washu has taken over the story...I disagree.)
"So, Tenchi vas born on earth, but from space?"
(She has?)
"Indeed and the second successor to the throne."
(I was NOT saying that Washu has taken over the story, I was noting (not for better or for worse), that when Washu's controlling writer was changed from me to Washu's Student, the RP Washu's character changed from being completely OVA-style to more of a Universe style [which is more common]. "...and the whole story follows." referred to how I was [at the time] the only RP'er trying to keep the story to more of an OVA feel, and thus when I handed over the reigns of Washu's RP character, the story reverted.)
({takes big breath})
(Sorry...I really coudn't tell the difference...)
(Waiting on you.)
He rubbed his temple and said, "Thees probably better to take after few shots vodka, I theenk."
"Big sister, can you help out in the kitchen?" asked Sasami as she popped her head in.
"Yes Sasami, I'll be right there. Please excuse me..." said Aeyka as she left for the kitchen.
Again, he was alone. He then looked at Tenchi, who anticipated the question, and said, "It was hard for me to swallow at first, too. Ever since then, my life has been rather chaotic, with a few moments of peace and order thrown in."
Sasami was humming cheerfully as she diced the ingredients and prepared to cook.
""Vell, I supposed it not bad to have neighbors as you...but...now vat? I call you your highness? Treat everyone like royalty?"
Ayeka filled a pot with water and set it on the stove.
"Please don't," he said, "Ayeka calls me 'Lord Tenchi' all the time, but here, in Japan, I'm just Tenchi."
Next, they began to put the ingredients in.
(Now what?)
(They could talk, or we could skip to dinner time.)
Dinner.)
Some time later, Sasami's voice rang out throughout the house.
"Dinnertime~!"
The pair went to the dining room.
(We'll wait for Washu)
Washu comes out of her lab, exhausted from reading. She then sits down on a chair near the dinner table. "Thank you Sasami for preparing dinner."
Vasiliev smiled and said, "Eez that Borscht I smell?"
"Haai~" said Sasami as she came out with a large pot.
His eyes went wide and he sat down salivating. He could not wait!
After everything was ready, they all placed their hands together and said, "Itadakimasu!"
He kept his head bowed a little longer, crossed him self Russian Orthodox style and then said, "Thank you so much for making treat from homeland!"
(Oi, For/Washu/student. You there?)
(Sorry, things have been happening in my life.)
Washu makes a prayer with her hands as a thanks for dinner. "May I be excused? I have important reading to get too."
"But we just started. I am anxious to try young lady's food."
He popped in a morsel as he said that.
"Please help yourselves." smiled Sasami.
(Is is Sasami good? If so, he's going to love her!)
(Is she good? 0.o)
(Is the food Sasami good? Geez, get your head out of the gutter, boy!) LOL
(His head isn't in the gutter; YOU (it would appear) are massively uninformed when it comes to Sasami and food. ;) )
(If you ever watched the show Hell's Kitchen or Master Chef, she's Ramsey's Head Chef.)
(I was just joking For Washuu....Geez! :o)
His eyes rolled back into his head. "This is to die for!"
"Thank you." smiled Sasami sweetly.
"Delicious as always Sasami." said Ayeka after trying the first bite.
"Please don't overexert yourself." she then said toward Washu.
"What is this stuff that's so good!" said Tenchi, to which Vasiliev responded, "Is Borscht. She make it so good, you put on head, tongue beat your brains out to get it."
"What's in it, Sasami?" asked Tenchi.
She began naming them off.
"Mmm.. Beef broth, beef shank, onion, beets, carrots, russet potatoes, cabbage, dill, red wine vinegar, sour cream, and salt and pepper."
"Wow!" said Tenchi, "You people in Russia know how to eat!"
"Drink, too!" he said, pulling out the vodka for after dinner.
(I forget who had Ryoko...)
"Drink? Alright!" Ryoko pulled out a large bottle of 'Sapporo - Hard Sake!'.
(You did.)
"Eez good as vodka?"
"Best in Japan and famous worldwide!" grinned Ryoko.
"Right," he said, pouring out a shot for her.
"Thanks." she said as she gulped it down. She then brought the entire sake bottle to her lips and chugged on the bottle.
He was stunned.
"Ahhhh, that's good." she said after a long drink.
"Please drink from a cup when you're at the dinner table..." said Sasami with a ^^'.
He just stared.
Washu was glad to not have been excused. Otherwise, she'd have missed out on Sasami's marvelous cooking. "Sasami, what makes your cooked food taste so marvelous?"
"Oh, I'm not that good... I just follow the recipes and make them." replied Sasami modestly.
"Logical, I suppose. Who made these recipes is the question I should be asking."
"Well, I guess not enough do that, follow recipe I mean."
'Experimentashon!" smiled Sasami.
"What you mean by that?"
"I learned to cook from experimenting around and combining what I feel like would make the best combination of flavors."
"Yet you learn to use cookbook...but I bet your experiments real good too!"
"Ah, yes. I use the cookbook when making something I don't know. But everything else is created by me."
"You make someone good wife someday!"
She blushed.
"Thanks..."
Tenchi looked away, knowing that nothing like that could happen ever due to their outward appearance in age.
(By the way..... This is the current Sasami.)
"Seconds please!" said Mihoshi, holding out her bowl.
"Hai hai.." nodded Sasami, filling up another one for her.
(Still...)
Tenchi thrust his bowl out as well, and Vasiliev was smiling ear to ear as he asked for more.
Sasami happily filled out another serving for the two hungry boys.
(However, she might be old enough for Vasiliev...just probing.)
He then said, "So, are you betrothed yet, Sasami?"
Tenchi almost choked on his bite hearing that.
(She's.. Isn't she a bit too young for Vasilev?)
"No, not yet." she blushed, casting a glance at Tenchi.
(Or old...)
(I know...but I want to play the game with him of being attracted somewhat to the girls around Tenchi, but never ever being able to get any of them...makes for great comedy!)
"Tenchi...how many girls like you?"
He did not know how to answer this one.
(I'd expect Washu to make a joke at this.)
(May have to wait for a response.)
