To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Fantasia Bunko they held an art exhibit. Kajishima had a piece of art there.

They were also selling a cloth version of the art. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a towel or whether it's just how they decided to sell the prints instead of on paper.

They also announced a crossover RPG. Not sure if they can use Tenchi characters or if they need AIC's permission first, but it might be cool if some GXP characters end up in it.

I heard about the developments from the Fantasia Bunko event and was disappointed at the lack of High School DxD announcements, which they're probably saving for the next event in January...

...WAIT A MINUTE!  Something from Tenchi actually showed up?!  But Tenchi isn't under the label at all, so yeah... VERY interesting development!  I wonder if this is a sign that there's some kind of deal going on between AIC and Fantasia Bunko that we don't know about... or perhaps it's just a situation where Kajishima gave them art to show off and it means absolutely nothing in the long run.

Personally, I'm hoping it's the former (A deal between AIC and Fantasia).  Looks like we'll have to wait until January to find out.  question

Not holding my breath for Tenchi characters to show up given that, as I noted, the Tenchi novels are not published under the Fantasia Bunko label (They're published by Kadokawa).  I'd expect confirmation for more Fantasia Bunko franchises that aren't confirmed yet such as High School DxD, Saber Marionette J, and Real Bout High School before anything Tenchi gets confirmed.  The only chance Tenchi has of showing up in this game is if there is some kind of deal between AIC and Fantasia that we don't know about (A possibility that I mentioned above).

(Case in point about the possibility of this being a "one and done", albeit in another franchise, is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory.  In order for Arcadiamon's Ultra form to appear in the game, Bandai Namco had to get permission from Tenya Yabuno, who owns the rights to most of the characters exclusive to Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01.  It's kinda complicated; Bamco can use most of Arcadiamon's line, but not his Ultra form, without permission from Yabuno.  UlforceVeedramon Future Mode, Daemon Ultra, Dominimon, and Regulumon I know also fall into this category.  Important to note that because the Korean version of Digimon Masters added UlforceVeedramon Future Mode earlier this year without Yabuno's permission... and then they had to remove said Digimon from the game once he found out and called for the removal.  So yeah... this could be a one time case of Kajishima giving art without some kind of long term deal being made.)

Nearly all of the Tenchi novels are published under the Fantasia Bunko line. True Tenchi, GXP, the Hasegawa novels, the adaptations of the In Love movies, the Pretty Sammy novels, the Tenchi in Tokyo novel, and the Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari novel. The only ones they didn't publish were Paradise War and Ai Tenchi Muyo.

Kadokawa owns Fujimi Shobo and Fujimi Shobo has the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.

Well... about that... there's a contradiction in play.  *Dun dun DUNNNNNNNN*  :siren:  Long story short, I checked the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko article on Wikipedia prior to making that comment, and Tenchi is NOT listed there... but everything else is.  All the novels that I know have been published under the label ARE listed in the article, but Tenchi isn't.  That, and the 30th anniversary site doesn't have ANYTHING listed for Tenchi yet there's stuff for Date A Live, High School DxD, Slayers, Real Bout High School, etc.  This is a case where Based Fap or someone else who knows about how the novels were released and by whom in Japan will be VERY helpful in clearing this up, because we have one place saying one thing, another saying another, and even the official source not even mentioning it.

Yeah, I know of the old adage of "you can't believe everything on Wikipedia" and indeed live by it, but the fact that literally everything else for Fantasia Bunko is listed in the article accurately but there's no sign of Tenchi either in the Wikipedia article or even on Fujimi Fantasia's anniversary site... that's VERY suspicious to me.  To the Mystery Machine!  question

This, on the other hand, I'm fully aware of.  It's still worth noting for those who may be unaware of that fact, though; I'm known for pointing out little details like that myself when it's relevant to the discussion.  :)

Here is GXP 17 listed on the Fujimi Shobo site. The book has the Fantasia Bunko logo right on the front cover.

These are the Fantasia Bunko logos. The top one is the old logo and the bottom one is the current logo.

Ah, gotcha.  There's the proof.  Can't argue with that; +1 incoming.  :)  The confusing thing now is that it doesn't explain why Tenchi isn't listed on Fantasia Bunko's official site lineups at all and it's only mentioned in the online store.  Yeah, they publish the novels, but they're not given their own section on the official Fantasia Bunko website.  Case in point, if you go here, there's a list of almost everything that's under the label...

http://www.fujimishobo.co.jp/fantasia/

...notice that there's only one series missing?  Yup.  And that one series is Tenchi.  I betcha that AIC doesn't want the novels up front and center for some reason.  I can only ask one thing... why?  AIC being AIC?  (Wouldn't doubt it.)

There are tons of series missing. That is only the list of books releasing this month.

So the only thing I'm gathering from this is that there's a minuscule chance that Ryoko and Sasami will meet Lina Inverse and Amelia in some RPG that will almost surely never get officially translated. Thonk That about right?

On a less bullshit scale, Tenchi vs Gourry, because I need more laser sword fights.

Oh good, a rational discussion. :smug:

If more franchises get added, that roster might also include High School DxD... which means we'd finally get Tenchi VS Issei, or even Ryoko VS Rias.  As a huge fan of both Tenchi and DxD, I'd DEFINITELY pay 1,000,000,000,000 Zenny to see either matchup, and more than double to see both.  (There'd probably be an Ayeka VS Akeno matchup in there somewhere too, but you get the idea...)

Book it, Vince.  :emot-smugdog:

They'd play D&D instead.

The game will most likely be a shitty gacha game. It would be nice if it was an actual rpg, but I doubt it would ever get an english translation. It would be great if my boy Sugiskai Ken could make it in though.
