Does anybody have great anime recommendations for somebody who likes Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Studio Ghibli, The Legend of Korra, Penguins of Madagascar, Phineas & Ferb, the Looney Tunes Show, Friendship Is Magic, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Super Mario Galaxy, Ni No Kuni, Journey, and Final Fantasy 8-9?

With all the controversy surrounding the Ai Tenchi Muyo Illustrator, I would recommend Durarara!! To see some of the "inspirations" for the new Ai Girls designs.....

or if you're pissed off at the guy you should try both No Game No Life (Better than Shit Art Online) and Bakemonogatari (Harem Even though MC has a girlfriend.). All 3 are on Crunchyroll.

My personal favorite is Steins;Gate although that's not on Crunchyroll anymore and I'm not sure whether most Tenchi fans would enjoy a great Time-Travel Sci-Fi anime. Thought I should mention that.

Okay. Thanks. I pay for Crunchyroll to support the anime industry, but haven't used it much.

I kind of dislike Nisioisin as a person after Medaka Box though. Is Bakemonogatari really enjoyable?

I pay for Crunchyroll

Well, you may as well enjoy some of the manga they've got up too. Try Yamada-kun, Space Brothers & Blue Steel. I'd also suggest Sever Deadly Sins, but I've never got around to reading it.

For some light-hearted fun, I never went wrong with Kill Me, Baby!, Joshiraku, or Azumanga Daioh. If you like some action or punches, Dirty Pair and Hokuto No Ken are both pretty good for that.
This is not a sig, it's a Sandwich.

I like Azumanga Daioh.

This may or may not be available on crunchyroll, in Europe. At the very least, it just got pulled from North American IP ranges because Funimation decided to license it.

Another that's just airing I'd recommend you check out is this:

With both of these titles I've found myself doing something I rarely ever do; watch an episode more than once. So they both get my seal of approval. And since you're paying for CR, you may as well check them out too.

Oh man, Medaka Box. I had high hopes for that anime too. Not entirely his fault seeing that Jump editors can be assholes whenever he would try to do something different. (Reminds me of Beelzebub's fate in Shonen Jump as well)

You're definitely missing out on Bakemonogatari though. It's too bad you saw Medaka Box first as Bakemonogatari its his signature series. His writing is definitely more enjoyable there and the characters really do make the show even better. Just a word of caution though some of the dialog is displayed really fast so you might want to pause whenever a character thinks to see what he/she is thinking. It's also one of SHAFT's best works too.

It is more that I found part of the spirit of Medaka Box hollow and unsympathetic.

Cruelly distorting, condemning, and sadistic towards the maladjusted, disabled, poor, depressed, and mentally ill, and overly apologetic about conceited entitled elitist vicious bloodthirsty rightwing extremist attitudes.

Basically a distorted reverse-version of the thematics in my own story. "Nisioisin" as a person came across as an entitled intolerant hateful anti-idealistic cynical asshole, who firmly believes in institutionalised massive social injustice, and thoroughly hates and condemns any nice people who might object.

That said, I found it curious that he placed little Swedish flags on many characters' feet.
