This will be a test to see how the Toonami audience accepts the Harem Genre...I'm not gonna be all super optimistic, but hell who knows. At least GXP has the comedy thing people can laugh off of. I personally think it had the best humor factor of all the Tenchi series.

Idk what people have against the harem genre.... ???
Tenchi got a lot of hate for acting assertive in GXP 17 :-\
Edit: And in TinT (although everyone including him was idiotic there), and for being more stubborn in general.
All I will say is... oh wait, a certain GIF can express my emotions even better than words can.

Plus, I have been meaning to check out GXP for a while now. Some good news on an otherwise uneventful weekend (At least for me). :D
I thought people hates anime harem because they found the plot stupid (for example, like how so many times the hero is accidentally a pervert).
Also, I like Rito and Keitaro. And Tenchi of course. 8)

Oh? More proof Tenchi is better off with it's old shitty fanbase dead and forgotten. Boss Tenchi is best Tenchi.

When I have seen Toonami's new lineup, I was reallly suprised that Tenchi Muyo: GXP is part of the lineup. At first, I have thought that Toonami was bringing back Tenchi Muyo or Tenchi: Universe back on TV. Despite of its flaws, TM: GXP will make a fine addition to Toonami's lineup. GXP is a tamer Harem series than TM: War on Geminar and a few others like Girls Bravo.
The Japanese do call any Harem series a lovecomi(Love comedies). The term Harem Genre was coined by North American anime fans. There are a lot of example of good Harem series. Most harem series are not on the same level like Tenchi Muyo and the other great harem comedies. Two other great harem series are Love Hina and Urusei Yatsura.
Urusei Yatsura was likely the first harem series. It is a typical Lovecomi series. Urusei Yatsura contains some elements of a typical Harem series. There is a fine website which features an article on the Harem Genre. You will find the article on this website http://www.comedyvideoscentral.com/Harem_anime.html.
The same website in link as a reference site in the Harem genre article on Wikipedia.
Boss Tenchi will be in OVA 4. Expect black eyes
I think the bruising would be a bit lower. ;)

O wow, Tenchi got a TON of hate for that MnE scene. All the people hating him on that forgot that she was attacking Mayuka (and did in fact drop her from the sky onto a tree in the movie).

Which supports my argument that Harem is not meant for this crowd.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it has not. From what I can tell novels 1-5 are first semester and novels 6-10 are second semester. I say this because none of the novels released yet feature Seina piloting Jingu, nor the Wau inhabited planet. So there's still a lot more to write til Seina gets married off.

Well, it was good while it lasted...GXP is getting moved and apparently taking Eureka's old spot, which is like 3 in the morning Eastern time I believe.
Apprently, Tenchi was pulling sucky numbers compared to the first shows aka the Shounen, and Toonami thinks this might be a way to keep you bastards from turning the channel after the first hour. When will they learn the casual fan doesn't even give a shit about an anime Genre that's not action? And Harem at that? But its not GXP's fault, this slot has ALWAYS sucked, cause people can't stay up for shit lol

Ranma 1/2! Now that's a series that's due for a reboot.
Really? I'd have thought that seven seasons+OVA series+movie+movie+movie was enough. >.>
Plus, it went in and out of being good. And had no ending whatsoever.

We have a new generation of people that have never seen it though I mean look at JoJo's Bizarre adventure reboot it's doing really well.
If they'd reboot any of Rumiko's works, it'd probably be Urusei Yatsura. Cause nearly 35 years later, Lum is still relevant to nerd culture/spank material. Also it's one reboot I approves.

EDIT: should work now
I agree for a reboot of Urusei Yatsura thought I have nothing against a Ranma 1/2 reboot if they follow more the manga (I am still piss off Gosunkugi is not in the earlier season >:( ).

wah?! I thought Funi management would never wise up enough to allow CN airing rights of OP. Maybe they finally realized it would be impossible to continue funding the licensing of nearly 600 episodes without a current TV run & strictly relying on dvd/bd sales & streaming. Something VIZ clearly realized wouldn't work, since they were smart enough to work out a deal with CN regarding Naruto & Bleach.
Some very interesting news at the Momo con....Demarco explains the situation with Tenchi on toonami, and exactly what was going on. My boy has been wanting me to watch this forever, so he jumped like a bat out of hell when he found out and told me. Gives me a chance to finally check it out, he's been giving it high praise, so hopefully its good.
IGPX was alright from what I remember. I watched it because Production IG made it so, kind of had a fairly high expectation of the series (if only because I love the GitS series a bit 'too much'). Over all, it was, eh. A racing anime with mechs. It wasn't bad. But nothing really ground breaking.
It's also funny because it was a series where I kind of, basically the pairing I preferred early on with the main character actually changed. Went from not liking the pairing in season 1, to, preferring it to what happened in Season 2. Guess that shows I can't be easily pleased about the pairing choice in manga or anime no matter the series. :parrot:

But as I was warned, I did notice a big difference in quality from the first half of the series compared to the second half, though I didn't find the second half bad like others did.

The same pink haired girl who is also in my avatar at the moment. Chiho from Hataraku Maou-sama, one of the shows I'm watching this season. She's become the fan favorite of the show, who doesn't like a innocent moe girl?

BIG O!!!!
*Can finally pay attention to the second season
A friend of mine and some of his buddies have started a group from the Adult Swim boards where they make podcast each week basically reflecting on the past week and other useful insight. So if you're a pretty usual toonami watcher, go on and check them out when you get a chance.

They also planned on doing a episode discussing Tenchi's run and the fan request to bring it back, and figured since this is a Tenchi site, it would be cool to get some folks from here to be a guest or something....So who knows, maybe we can get some joint project in the future going.

Each Tenchi has been connected with Toonami in one way or another. Pretty awesome feat imho, especially for a franchise that I times gets complaints about not having enough exposure.

Watching as I post these pics, cause this is the only time I'll get to. Some assholes decided to appoint my place and TV as host to the Mayweather fight, so mofos gonna be all up in my shit later tonight, leaving no time for anime, hentai, porn, you know the usual. At least I'm getting free food tho...

QuoteHey everybody! Just wanted to drop you all a line and announce a couple pieces of Toonami news.
First, we are proud to announce that Toonami will be WORLD PREMIERING the new series from Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Studio BONES (FMA, Soul Eater, many more), SPACE DANDY! SPACE DANDY is a 26 episode series that will be premiering in the U.S. BEFORE it premieres in Japan (yep, you read that right)! Details on that to follow soon.
Oh, and when will it premiere? Sooner than you think- January 4th, at 11:30 PM.
"Did I just read 11:30?"
Yep, you read that right. Space Dandy will kick off an expanded 6-1/2 HOUR TOONAMI broadcast every Saturday. Toonami Faithful, we got our extra half hour!
Oh, you're STILL not satisfied? Fine. We have some other great news that will be coming in the next few weeks, but until then we'll drop one more little tidbit: In December, Toonami will take a break from our regular schedule and have a bit of holiday fun, with three weeks in a row of a movie special to kick off the block! What movies, you ask? Well, you'll have to wait a bit on that. :)
Finally- if you have more questions about all this, GOOD- ask them here! We'll be doing our monthly Toonami Q&A this Sunday from 11am et, to whenever we hit the tumblr post limit! Remember, your question could end up on our monthly on-air Tumblr Q&A session with Tom and Sara.
WHEW- okay. Keep your eyes locked right here over the next few weeks for more details on all of this, as well as some other VERY exciting developments we can't talk about yet. And in the mean time, do make sure you check us out on November 2nd, when we'll be airing some fun little surprises in the daylight savings hour (2am)!
DAT MURIKA TIER 1 love.
