Been in my fighting game mood the past 2 weeks. Want to complete my goal of having a game from every major fighting game series this generation on Xbox 360. So during the Xbox holiday sell, bought Dead or Alive 5 and Soul Calibur 4. Both very good and enjoying them. Still plan on getting Soul Calibur 5 and one of the Blazblue games and that should do it. Don't need a KOF since I bought the steam version and I plan on getting injustice on steam anyway.

Don't care about getting a Guilty Gear game since I prefer playing it on Dreamcast anyway. Plus I heard it wasn't even good on 360.

*Edit
Scratch that, seems there is a good arcade version of GGXX on Live marketplace.

I still gotta get around to trying the new one, the updated gameplay system reminds me of Bulletstorm. Which I actually enjoyed, til it got really repetitive, around halfway through. Probably would have already, had the new Lo Wang actually talked like the original parodied racist stereotype did. Original Lo Wang made Shadow Warrior great. All of his lines were simply brilliant.

Fucking Japanese... I swear, all they ever do is steal what everyone else is doing. Tsundere, beta mc, maid cafe, mobile card games, the list just goes on and on. This shit never stops. Oh! KonColle is selling strong and SquareEnix is going mobile card game too. We'll do the same! How unexpected! We're pioneers! Self high five! It seems that what little integrity & imagination Japan had left has officially developed terminal cancer. It won't be long til the rest of Japan follows suit.

Yeah, most of those social games taking limelight from the real games is starting to make me mad too.  It's sad when you think about it.  Granted, a small percentage of the social games are good, but not all of them.

Anyway, back on topic.  Been playing lots of SSF4AE and UMvC3 with my buddy lately, and am probably going back to Giant Gram 2000 regularly soon.  I just popped that one back in earlier today to watch the CPU play against itself and I'm looking forward to actually playing it again.
"I believe classic Mewtwo shot first, and I will die on that hill." -Me, at some point. Probably.

Fuck, it looks like even Nintendo might bow out of the market.
http://www.gamrreview.com/news/90925/iwata-nintendo-thinking-about-a-new-business-structure/

"We are thinking about a new business structure. Given the expansion of smart devices, we are naturally studying how smart devices can be used to grow the game-player business. It's not as simple as enabling Mario to move on a smartphone."

That from the company whom less than a decade ago said that if Nintendo stopped manufacturing hardware, it would close their doors [before becoming a 3rd party developer]. Nintendo really should have sucked it up & opted to become a 3rd party developer for Sony or Microsoft consoles and stuck to what they really do best; handhelds. Cause once the casuals moved onto tablets & the sales began to tank, it was obvious Wii's reign had ended and those same customers were not going to return for the next system.

Think I mentioned it before, but if Nintendo have to pull a Dreamcast and sell the Wii U for 99 bucks, probably gonna grab it.

Checking out the Lightning Returns Demo that just popped up on XBL, never understand why she's so popular, but gonna give this a shot.

The character lightning is lame as hell IMHO, she comes off to me as a wannabe female Clint Eastwood. But the gameplay, holy shit. I've stood by all along that my favorite game genre is EASILY action RPG, reasons why Dragon's Dogma and Kingdom Hearts type games get me going (except Dark Souls, fuck you dark souls you evil bitch).

This is like a fusion between typical FF style command menu turn base combat and action RPG combat with free character controller and button configured attacking.

So in a typical RPG menu you'd have like:

FIGHT
MAGIC
BLOCK
POTION

And you'd chose one of those, that's here but instead of going up and down selecting one, each option is chosen in real time with a specfic button. Like fight is B button, and your character actually swings real time. Pretty damn cool. Think it gives a good insight on where Nomura plans on taking FFXV.

Tried SSX (2012) again. God I hate that game. SSX 3 was perfection.
This has nothing to do with the post. You just kinda wasted your time reading this. Sorry.

I have been trying out FFXIV for a while. Strictly out of loyalty to the franchise, as I don't like online games as such. It is pretty boring, but in lack of other games that I like, it is something to do.
