Huh...Since when Mario kills tanooki ? Did I miss a game ?  :o At least with Pokemon that make a bit sense thought I don't think a child will abuse animal after playing it.

Nothing about this surprises me in the least. Back in the late 90s, PETA was campaigning up here in Alaska to have mosquitoes protected. Yeah.
