Anyone heard anything on more episodes of HSOD?

Unfortunately, we might not get another season because apparently the Manga artist has been on a hiatus for a LONG time, and where the story is currently stalled might not be enough to cover in 12 episodes....Especially since the OVA let us know they are headed to the Mall arc.

It's either the artist that is on hiatus. Or the manga author (who is the brother of said artist). Either way, there hasn't been a new manga chapter in a long run.

Unless the anime goes original, don't expect a new episode soon.

At this point I'd say it's dead, permanently. The brothers behind it weren't being paid enough per panel, nor were volume sales enough to cover their expenses, which included additional staff. The only reason the last couple chapters were made was because the manga got licensed by Yen Press.

Stuff like that happens to a lot of upcoming artists. That island of breathing fossils would rather stick to something familiar, like the big 3, than waste 15minutes reading a single chapter, from a title & author they don't already know. The more Japan's youth declines, the more upcoming artists suffer. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true.

Anyway the Shoji Sato has done some h-manga & h-doujins not too long ago. But his brother, Daisuke Sato, disappeared completely. At least from what I can tell.

Yea the few h-doujins I've seen from that brother are awesome, think hes going by the name Inzuma or something like that....All that talent just going to waste...

Yeah i figured that was the case, i hope they go original and maybe hire the manga author for episodes to kinda keep it on track, loved that anime

Hmm. First time I heard the reason why HSotD wasn't continued was due to financial reasons. Makes total sense. While it might have appeared successful on the outside, doesn't mean it was for the people actually making it. But it's the first time I heard of it.

Too bad too. Despite it's flaws, I thought it was a good manga series.

Is I am the only person on the forum who found it serie was okay at best ?

I'm the only one here that absolutely hated it. :P

I just don't understand the appeal of this series, of course I'm talking about the anime, I never read any of the manga.

I really wish someone could make a scary zombie movie again. All zombie stuff today is either a shitty action movie, a badly written drama or unfunny comedies (Not Shaun of the Dead though, that one's actually funny).
This has nothing to do with the post. You just kinda wasted your time reading this. Sorry.

And a shot to the heart for HOTD fans...

Turns out, this new restart of the manga is just a one shot, and a actual continuation is still undetermined. And Yes, Idolm@ster has been blamed.

Well, now HSoD and Berserk fans can commiserate together.  :aaa:
"Growing up leads to growing old and then to dying, and dying to me don't sound like all that much fun."

One shot is better than nothing. But yes. If the reason is due to Idolm@ster, someone needs to declare war on the moe. :siren:

*And I'm assuming that isn't a troll reason to link it to the other infamous haitus plagued manga. After all, if it isn't obvious by now, humor is lost on the Internet.  :parrot:

At least Berserk is now somewhat back on track. Now delays can be played because of the ridiculous amount detail that's put into the chapters. The anti-Bleach. :D

>another mangaka consumed by idolm@ster

Won't be long til Miura & the Sato brothers are total xbox live bros and swapping Iori doujins.
