Does anyone know if they are going to make a 3rd season of Sekirei?

As of now no, and unfortunately is looking less and less likely with each year. A couple of problems. First, we have to wait on Square Enix who are the publishers of the Sekirei Manga, they have to give Seven Arcs (the anime studio) the green light. It doesn't help that the manga writer Sakurako is lazy as hell and always taking breaks. By the time Pure Engagement aired, we were on about chapter 100, we are now only on chapter 140, and this is a bi-weekly manga.
:neg:

Second issue is the anime studio Seven Arcs. If you get the time, look up the anime series called Dog Days. It's a anime only series created by the studio themselves, basically an original production just like Tenchi was. Well, while Sekirei sold pretty respectably in Japan (About 6000 copies per Volume), Dog Days has sold like crack. Each volume has sold at least 12,000 copies, so from a business stand point, it's WAY more profitable compared to working on Sekirei.

Sekirei the anime was produced in 2008 and the sequel in 2010. Roughly after the sequel season, Dog Days aired. Now for the heartbreaker. Guess which one of these two series just got green lit for a season Three last fall. The fact that Dog Days can get THREE whole seasons before Sekirei can even get a third let's you know Sekirei isn't in the companies' plans right now.

Though when it comes to Sekirei in general I'm just disappointed in the series, specifically the manga. From the Writer straight up admitting she was getting tired of writting Sekirei, to the story now getting rushed to it's ending, I just don't have high hopes for this series's ending anymore.

If you have a Facebook please like this page. It is kind of like a petition for more seasons. If it gets enough likes then maybe the producers of the anime will notice it. Thanks

Sorry dude, but unless it's in Japanese, they won't care.

Correct, Japan does not give two shits about the opinions of foreigners & foreign sales numbers.  Far as they're concerned, you're all a bunch of gangsters & thieves. They care more about losing Japanese sales through reverse importation than they do about your opinions on how they do business, what they charge & which titles they choose to animate. The only reason you even get licensed anime so cheap is because they hope it'll limit piracy within Japan, though licensors defending their copyright claims against pirate sites. Everything they do is about Japan and not you, the 'westerner'.

In fact even Japan's otaku hate you. Virtually everyone selling goods on Yahoo Auctions refuses to ship anything abroad, with the most extremist of sellers going so far as to track & block deputy services and to cancel winning auctions of anyone they suspect to be a 'foreigner'. Even if that 'foreigner' lives within Japan. And it is not limited to 'hentai', I can assure you that.

Cosmode, one of the top cosplay magazines published in Japan had a small section dedicated to foreign cosplayers, so small that it consisted of a mere 6 pages per issue and those 6 pages were enough to upset their autistic reads to the point they were forced to pull the section. That's right, the autistic overgrown children could not cope with a mere 6 pages dedicated to foreigners cosplaying their favorite characters. Just think about how much hate mail & cancellation threats it took for a magazine to cave to their demands and then think about how nice a place you think Japan is.

The 'all foreigners are criminals & thieves mentality' really isn't something new thou. A large part of that started before WWII, in the era of black & white cinema. At the time a lot of films Japan were introduced to were films about organized crime. From westerns to bank robberies to the mafia, those films shaped Japan's perception of America and the western world. So much to the fact that they were used as propaganda pieces to justify Japan's involvement in WWII. Going so far as to emotionally scar their people to the point that many took their own lives to avoid being taken prisoner.

Today a lot of hate comes from foreigners imposing their values on Japan, like when Fox News and every other network wouldn't stop talking about eroge like Rapelay. For the most part Japan just wants to be left alone and if it means alienating anyone else, they're fine with it. Cultural sensitivity was never one of Japan's strong points anyway. And most of what Japan makes was never intended for international distribution, like all of those phones they marketed to teenage girls.

Out of curiosity, how did the manga author screw up this series?

If you believe Tenchi Ryu, hawt chick pairs up with the wrong guy and not the main harem. Haven't seen/read the series myself so, oh well. :uhaul:

Author stopped caring. Literally. She announced that she had grown tired of the series and planned to end it, that was nearly 2 years ago. Since then the story has gone full battle manga, with several unimportant characters muddying up the waters, further delaying the inevitable ending.
