The best of the Shonen Trio if you ask me.
SPOILER WARNING FOR THOSE WHO DON'T READ THE MANGA!

It seems as though Kyros is actually the Toy Soldier, another brilliant Oda twist! With all of this commotion going on at Dressrosa, I just want to see what happened to Sanji and the others as they were stopped by Big Mom's ship and they're basically screwed as of now. I also want to see Law's crew again. I miss the Kung-Fu bear Bepo already!!

I also like the current One Piece arc. There has been so much going on, and it has been very unusual and chaotic/unpredictable. I think that Oda is probably a genius given all the ideas that he crams into things.

Do you watch the anime? I used to really enjoy watching the first half of it but since Impel Down its really hard to enjoy the slow pacing of the anime and thanks to Toei Animation not knowing how to create creative fillers and lazy art direction it just became a chore for me to watch the anime especially during Fishman Island Arc (which I consider to be the weakest in all of OP). Punk Hazard also suffered from lazy art direction but I really do love the voices in the anime and I would love to see another movie done in the same style as Strong World (With Oda writing it to become canon to the manga.) Although Film Z was a good movie too.

I only watch the Oda-written movies. I don't like Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto, etc. style TV series. The mangas don't translate well to anime format i.m.h.o. and get decompressed too much to fill out more episodes. If they were handled far more compressed with much fewer episodes, I might have watched them. As it is, I read and like the mangas much better.

I see that's good. Although there are some perfect adaptations of shonen manga like Jojo 2012, Death Note and Shingeki no Kyojin. So not all shonen manga adaptations are bad. It all depends on the studio. If a studio like Toei or Pierrot gets greedy of course they'll add in a bunch of useless filler to pad the anime and not even take a break from airing it that way we can get some perfect pacing with the episodes. A shame that One Piece is becoming such a bore to watch as I really do enjoy the voices in the anime. It would've been awesome to see Mad House or David Production animate One Piece.

Both Funimation & Crunchyroll will be streaming the new 3D2Y special tonight. This is quite something, seeing that all of the previous specials were never simulcasted or licensed. I can't wait to see it. Apparently there is going to be something that manga readers won't be able to see in the special. Hopefully its that 7th Shichibukai Oda's been hyping up.

Fuck forgot about that my bad. I live in the US and I'm guessing the rights to steam it aren't available in your area. Shit sucks when they can't get the rights to stream in another country.

By Oda written movies, you mean Strong World & Z, right? I don't believe he had any part in adapting the others. For the most part I found One Piece adapted nicely to anime. The inclusion of filler arcs & the occasional filler episode does drag things out a bit much, but not enough that it ruins the whole experience. At least from what I've watched of the anime, which is up to episode 336 because I only watch OP dubbed. I could not sit though 650+ episodes of subtitled anime for a single series without wanting to kill someone. Not gonna happen. Ever. That said, some of the best scenes in the manga do not adapt well to anime. Or perhaps they simply do not get enough love from a production point, due to cost & time constraints.

If you haven't already, you should give the "digital colored comics" editions a look. The resolution & compression are really bad, but it adds a whole new dimension to the manga. Right now they're being released translated in the most dysfunctional release order imaginable, by a number of different typesetters. By my count, there's still 389 chapters yet to be typeset & released from the 678 colorized chapters released. http://bato.to/comic/_/comics/one-piece-digital-colored-comics-r10004

I'm amazed VIZ has yet to license them.

Sales most likely being the reason. Although the new manga Box Sets are going to include the Strong World chapter in print form for the 1st time in English.

True, but since the color editions are only available as a digital publication, where individual sales can easily be tracked, VIZ could come up with a unique licensing system for it and other digital manga. Ah, but I guess that makes too much sense for all parties involved. And making no money is better than some money. :duck:

EDIT: The first 700 chapters, which covers everything up to Dressrosa, are now available in English.
