Title: GXP 7 part 1 and Paradise war
Post by: Eff Efferson on May 05, 2018, 01:32:46 PM
The best part of this first half of the book is that kiriko and amane actually try to get the dicc for once...

These are some sloppy extremely bare bones  translations of the novel version of the original J retrieval episode... it added very little in the anime... and here it has some changes but not enough to make it really worth a full proper translation. things have been  cut out... or written in because i wasn't sure what was going on and just needed to get from point a to b but it's nothing anyone would miss or care if it had happened any differently. as for dialog I wing it if it's not painfully clear what's going on.... I'm really trying to rush through the rest of the books at this point but still make it fun and  readable.

but like there's a whole 70 or so paragraphs about how kirche used a computer that a young operator brought on board  and hacked it to send ryo-ohki their co-ordinates undetected... or something like that... who cares... unnamed characters don't deserve translations. or massive amounts of scenes dedicated to them...  this whole thing should have been... like... way less chapters....
this first half of the book and the fuku chapters of the next book deserve as sloppy of a translation as there going to be given... #end rant

also I did the same schtick to paradise war chapter 1... at least the first part of it... paradise was has giant chapters 100+ page chapters...  but this is the show's introduction and set up so I did more of a proper job translating... I hope everyone enjoys.

Others might feel differently, but I'm fine with this. Just touching the high points of difference between the original vision and what Director Nabeshin flushed out of his mind toilet is good enough for me, at least pre-Renza Arc. Beggars can't be choosers and we'll have to see if sales for the True Tenchi Novels are good enough for the GXP novels to be picked up, but I'm not holding my breath. So thanks a lot.

Devoting copious amounts of time to minor world details and useless trivia, that's the Kajishima Way™! It's even part of the title.

Edit: Does Washu simply enjoy working in her birthday suit?
