I'm thinking they'll concentrate on Universe and non-Kajishima material.

You know, to eliminate "misinformation". ;)

Wouldn't it be better to just help out with improving the existing Tenchi wiki instead?

This is what normal people what do, Unless the wiki had some major problems which to my knowledge I haven't heard any complaints? Plus if something is wrong then just fix it with citations that's the whole nature of wikis in the first place.

Yes. Agreed. It isn't like me or Ned are harsh regarding new members who help out.

So, the guy who claims we wiki admins avoid reality and stifle conversation... actively misrepresented my arguments, made false accusations, and closed comments on his announcement.

I can't even get mad at this point I would have hoped in the 10+ years that we since broke off certain people would have matured but every few years a wayward soul comes over here to tell me the experience that they had over there and it's the same story each time.

Then again I may be harsh in my judgement of someone who doesn't seem to be affected by loss.

Edit: I normally don't give a shit so moving forward let's focus on what we've been doing :Hek:

Hear, hear.

I'm done with vitriol about it. For my own self-therapy, I've written out point by point refutations of each of his baseless acusations, but I have no plans to publish it. I did screencap major interactions, such as where I suggested we delete the silly argument, but I have no interest in sharing them unless he decides to attack me specifically.

I also made the same snarky remark above about his "stifling" hypocrisy as a post in a Facebook group, but decided to delete it later. The page is a good natured fan group- no need to bring that up there.

The whole thing did upset me greatly, mostly as I feel I was being made a scapegoat for his old grudges.  I may write a general response about it as a blog post on the wiki or something. Nothing rude, just a statement that the wiki welcomes any who wish to edit it and that there is no bias, just a desire to create a wiki for ALL FANS, a "dictionary" of articles... maybe an invitation to air complaints or criticisms. Such as "do you know of content on on our wiki plagiarized from Wikipedia? Please tell us. We have great pride in the work we do and strive to produce original content."

You guys have done a tremendous job sprucing up the Tenchi Fandom, and working with you in past page generation / editing was a real treat.

Yes, Ned and DishonorableKnight have done an amazing job improving the Tenchi wiki. Given that my main job is taking care of the VS Battles wiki, I mostly just patrolled edits regularly to prevent vandalism in the Tenchi wiki for several years.

The Tenchiforum member who started the new wiki seems to have banned Ned from his Discord chat room when the latter just tried to politely reason with him, which was very rude and unnecessary in my view.

Thanks for the kind words. Working on them with DK and Carto and others kept me busy in these Covid days. I've only left my county 2 times since February 2020.

They also blocked my IP from even viewing Tenchi Forum or their wiki (which opened their first page yesterday- copy and pasted directly from Wikipedia).
:lmao:

If VPNs weren't a click away, that might be a little annoying.

You're not missing anything.
"Growing up leads to growing old and then to dying, and dying to me don't sound like all that much fun."

There's nothing wrong the the existing Tenchi wiki, other than it doesn't "accurately" state that "Kajishima is a hack loser and everyone else who did a Tenchi thing is the awesomest of the awesome with a side of super awesome."

I used to go into Tenchi Forum from time to time. Then sometime after I became the official adapter for the "True Tenchi Muyo!" novels, my ID stopped working. I can't say there's a correlation, but I did find it interesting. They do still follow me on Twitter though.

When it comes to Tenchi fandom, I've never belittled anyone who thought the canon materials were inferior to "Tenchi Universe" or the like. Everyone has their own tastes. I personally prefer the canon universe from Kajishima-sensei, but that's just me. That doesn't mean I didn't like the spinoff stuff. And I'll admit, I wished that "Ai Tenchi Muyo!" had been (1) a better story and (2) tied to "Tenchi Universe".

Sadly, all of this can be traced back to OVA 3. I remember the days on the AIC English forums where the Japanese fans would tell us stuff. There was a significant faction of fandom who didn't like what they heard and chose to ignore it. Then when OVA 3 dropped and the stuff was proven correct, that's when you had the split with folks disliking the developments of OVA 3 either leaving fandom (a healthy choice), or creating a new fandom where all they do is rail on Kajishima (not healthy).

I agree the Non-Kajishima stuff is fine it's just something we don't focus on really, if someone where to come around and start translating non-kajishima stuff we would support them.

Yes, I also agree with ANB. Which members have been around since the AIC Tenchi forum days btw? There is ANB, me, Jibril, maybe Zinv... anybody else? I have an uneven memory, especially as I spent 9 years medicated out of my mind and being a general nuisance as a consequence, as you all probably noticed.

Antva,

Quite a few from AIC but I don't really remember exactly who.  Some people scatter like the wind and then rejoined under a new name so idk anymore.

A lot of fans that come on facebook say they watched it from the Toonami days, so probably more than we expect.
