Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki / Memorial Service for Osaka Hananoko Planned for September 2022
« Last post by Ryo-Okay on November 26, 2021, 12:29:36 PM »
Osaka Hananoko was a long-time Tenchi fan artist who passed away in September 2020. They had planned to hold the memorial this year but couldn't because of Corona, so it is being held in September 2022.

I'm watching the anime Horimiya 2021 right now. From the first minutes of the anime, you are very interested in the characters' relationships, and the characters here are fascinating. In this anime, the main characters are high school students Izumi Miyamura and Kyoko Hori. Kyoko Hori is an ordinary high school girl who is kind and helpful and lives with her mother and younger brother. At the same time, Izumi is her classmate who seems gloomy and uncommunicative. The anime has excellent drawings and exciting romance. There is also a fair amount of humor. This anime is easily watchable in a single breath. This anime is short enough for only 12 episodes, 24 minutes each. I liked it very much, and it's a great everyday anime about relationships between high school kids. You can watch it at https://mrkissanime.com/.

This also leads us to what about Funaho-ki?

Has it ever been clearly stated that the tree is rooted in earthian soil and not still in the core unit-put-underground? In case of the former, what is the chance of yosho simply saying tha to get Jurai off his back, so to speak?

Repeating the same method Washu showed Ayeka might help, but then to go to the trouble wouldn't Washu go back on her word about building multiple Ryo-Ohkis?

-Are those floppy disks some kind of licenced product, or studio archive or even some homemade/fan made material?
-What's the motivation of creating, scanning or copying those files?
-Who made those and why put them on sale?
-What Notan Project has to do with them?

As we can see here, the Nontan Project was a doujin circle that had an affiliation with Masaki Kajishima.  That means in the 1990s, they were a unifying stable of multiple artists able to put enough content to print a doujin, usually for years in a row.  Which was a bit rarer back then than today, where it's all on computer.  MK might have made their cover or some pages, but didn't draw or endorse them all.

https://tenchisgirls.tumblr.com/post/155774789801/is-there-much-knowledge-out-there-regarding-the

As the text on the floppies show, they are all 640x480, which was the predominant screen resolution for most of the 90s at the time and it mentions them as wallpapers.  The OAV by that point was delivered in Laserdisc, with most people having no way to get screenshots, so this was a bonus for laptop and computer owners.

It was probably sold at Comiket alongside the doujins as an extra.

Usually discs have AIC copyright but these have none, so an unlicensed product.  I do have floppies from 1990s Tenchi or Pretty Sammy games and the labels have AIC copyright.

You found a really niche product and don't be sad about the OAV photos, even AIC lower tier official products/games have an ungodly amount of recycled art including screenshots.

Some of OVA 1, a looot of T in T, and (surprise surprise) OVA 3 is in there, too.  Link.
You could own... THIS!  :D

I'm more than happy with the screen shots of the cells :)  The one cell I really wanted I recreated in Manga Studio 5 from a tiny 00s thumbnail and the actual scene, a while back :D

WHAT I REALLY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN are finding clean cells from the game scenes which we will never really saw and when the game itself is really pixelated / old tech.
