You're gonna get that translated? :staredog: That would be amazing.

IF you do, you could try to start a translation project on baka-tsuki. I believe the minimum required to get a project listed is a single chapter translated & proof that you've got at least one translator. Then maybe if you're lucky someone else will show some interest & translate some of it or at least provide you with proofreading edits.

I know several people who are fluent in Japanese. 3 of them work as teachers in Japan and translate stuff. I was going to try and go to them for help before using Baka-Tsuki. My skills in Japanese aren't proficient enough to translate much, but I can provide some proofreading with the help of my diction books. Also, since it's a Kajishima book, there might be some weird terms within it which I can correct accordingly as the people I know aren't familiar with Tenchi specific stuff.

And if I knew someone was going to Comiket, whether a Tenchi fan or not, I'd be doing things to make that happen. I just don't know anyone who attends. :-(

I have a friend who was going to Comiket 84. I asked if he could get me the new Kajishima doujins. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency day 1 of C84, he got back to late to procure the items sometime near the end of C84.

You know, considering how he jumped on the web early in the game (I have translated Q&A's from his now defunct website), initially I was surprised he never got on Twitter. Then I remembered the haters and the psycho haters out there, and suddenly I realized that he probably won't get on Twitter to avoid the hate.

Shit never thought about this, Might be best if he didn't go on twitter (or maybe just ignore English tweets)

While clearly the Tenchi franchise is still going strong in Japan, there are Japanese haters too, though how many, I couldn't say.  I do remember back when OVA 3, episode 4 came out, someone reported on how unhappy some Japanese fans were, which I understood since episode 3 set up this awesome battle, then episode 4 said, "Its done, but we'll look back and show you what Sasami did after the fact."

Still, I'm sure Akamatsu-sensei took some heat for how Negima! ended, but he's still on Twitter.

Quote from: shades of blue on August 31, 2013, 10:43:19 PMWhat the man should do is get on facebook. I really don't like facebook, but it wouldn't cost him shit to run, would allow him more direct access to the fans and he could include full Q&A articles under "notes". For someone like Kaji, I think that'd be a very good match. Or at least a better match than twitter. Last thing we want is for Kaji to become a twitter addict on par with Miura's idolm@ster addiction.

Akamatsu-sensei has one too, though he hasn't updated it in quite some time.

So now that the Keiji kickstarter is already at 700,000, makes me dream some more on the future possibly Kaji kickstarted episode. Giving him 150 thousand, we could have him make like Night Before the Carnival part 2 or something. LWA is using the kickstarter money to make a 40 minute movie.

Some rough summarys for 13.08

Page 2-3:"This page was about how Rea felt like she needed to come clean and confession to her son that she had been hiding who she is from him."

Page 4-5:"This...
THIS is the journal of Kenshi's mum, and Tenchi's step mum!
So it basically told the story of how she came to Earth, and got picked up by Tenchi's BIRTH mother. (I wonder if Kiyone realised that this girl would be her husband's new wife?)

Here is the key; she did NOT deliberately came to Earth! She was mucking around with an experimental teleport device one night, and got sent over.
As far as she is concerned, it was all an accident... But we all know there is no such thing as an accident in the Tenchi universe."

Page 5-6:"Because Rea ended up on Earth, the mission to kill the big bad black robot fell on the shoulders of the two remaining super soldiers. Rea Second was chosen as the one to be sacrificed in order to seal away the evil.
(They are designed to survive dying though.)

Anyway, now that Rea Masaki ended up on the "Isekai" (Earth), she came up with the plan on her own to find a man to sire her future child, to aid the war effort back home....

"But then I realised I doesn't have the equipment, or the means, to actually GO back home! I don't know how to build a teleporter, and haven't got one ready!"

I ended up in despair and cried. But then Kyone told me the Masaki family secret, that the Masaki family were from the Stars. That they posses extreme, unimaginable technology, and that there is NO PROBLEM getting a simple dimensional travelling device built to order.

How fortunate!
Iresolved to carry out my plan, once my child body reaches adulthood.

A few years later, as an adopted member of the Masaki family, I had fully integrated into Earth life. Only to hear the sad news that Kiyone Onee -sama had passed on. I took on the role of taking care of the home with her Widower to raise their son Tenchi.

A decade later, Nobuyuki and I had been living together for some time, and he asked to marry me.

Before the wedding, I was informed of an ever greater secret; that there exists three Goddess who created the whole universe, and all three of them are going to be present at my wedding!?"

Page 8-9:"Nothing much here. Just Kenshi being born, and Rea worried about the heavy destiny on his little shoulders.
In many ways she considers what it's like to grow up in the house, with all these... ubermensch , in the house."

Page 12-13:"Okay, this is going too far.

It seems the entire family was informed and accepted the plan to send Kenshi back to Rea's dimension as a hero, but it means they would each try to do their best to ensure he has the best chance to succeed.

With Tokimi going to the other dimension and bringing back info, they know they have their work cut out for them. So Washu took on the role of Home-schooling Kenshi concerning the flora and fauna of the Other world. She also made sure to strengthn him with whateve elixir she can come up with in her lab. Constantly.

Sasami taught him everything she knows about cooking, but also about self sufficiency, and how to preserve foods in the wild.

Ayeka made herself useful by teaching Kenshi tailoring and even shoe making.

Kenshi's dad taught him woodwork and architecture, so that he would always be able to make a home anywhere.

And of course there are also some crazy knowledge that family members teach him, that may or may not come in handy... Rea was unsure if that was really a good idea.

Now for combat!
Goes without saying, the GREATEST swordsman in the galaxy, Katsuhito, taught him the family secret Jurai swordsmanship style.

That not all! Mihoshi got him fully trained in Galactic Police CQC as well as marksmanship. (Don't laugh, Mihoshi might shoot haphazardly, but she rarely miss.)

Ryoko of course instructed him in the Pirate-style of combat, while Sasami taught him staff combat."

Page 14:"
Theory only gets you so far. It gets you prepared for the expected. But what about the Unexpected?

Sena Yamada and Mihoshi specialise in the unexpected!

They have skill that can't be taught the normal way. When ever Kenshi hanged around either of them, unexpected, impossible things happen. This ended up being a kind of training in itself, as Kenshi obtained laser sharp focus and is always prepared for the unexpected.

Sena sort of protested, said it is too much to train this boy to do this task. But destiny's destiny.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
How will he ever grow up if his family makes everything easy mode for him and he never experiences any true hardship?
Err... this post answers that question. The boy is taken care of, but at no point was his life easy. He is being trained to be a super soldier remember, the only thing different is that his instructors are his loving family members. You can call his lifestyle a lot of things, but "easy" isn't one of them.

If I was ten, and my mum tell me I need to learn how to make my own shoes, I would probably run away."

"Anyway, can't translate the Afterwards, but the next book would be how Ryo-ouki train Kenshi."

The Tokimi-Rea hush hush secret planing OVA3 scene sorta confirmed as scheming the Kenshi movement. A win win for both, Rea gets to carry out her life mission, while Tokimi gets some direct Masaki ingredients to work with.

Mysterious Anon, we love you man. Seriously, this dude has come through for us time and time again.

From time to time, I've had some anonymous person provide info to me, but would never ID themselves. It was always a shame, but I suppose they have their reasons.

Nice work DS.

Astounding that Tenchi is not involved at all in Kenshi's training.  What is up with that? :orks:

Looks right on que to typical Tench-man IMO. You have to remember that Tenchi is what, 20 or 21 during this Kenshi growing up phase. Yea he's his big brother but he's also still a relatively young guy. So the whole Ben Kenobi role probably doesn't fit his style, and I'd bet Yosho prefers to keep that spot for now. Not just that, but its not much Tenchi could teach him. Yosho is much more suited to train Kenshi, cause he has actual skills that can be learned.

At this point, the best Tenchi can say is something like....

"Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and blow up Saturn with your mind".

Leave the training to the mastered fighters and stuff. That and I'm sure he'd much rather go farm some carrots then train a 3 year old. And it seems the hard labor is paying off physically.

Compared to this weak POS from 2 years ago....

I already posted this on 4chan, so I guess I'll add it here too, for those who have to wait.
