The tow truck came up and hooked to the car, towing it behind the pits, and the audience applauded that Kei was alright.  Once done, the second race prepared and started to circle the track behind the pace car.

[Trace Carter]

Z sat back and tried to calm his nerves after the accident.

[paladin313]

Kei himself was still a little rattled, never having experienced an accident that severe before.

(Do you think his parents would fly in to watch the race?)

[Trace Carter]

(might make things interesting,)

[paladin313]

(Refresh me...dad is uncomfortable around women except for his daughter and wife, and his wife is all gung-ho type-A personality?)

[Trace Carter]

(I think so, though K1's father is fine around belldandy.)

[paladin313]

As they came to the trailers, (where Bell fully expected to bathe him and give him a good rub down,) a white-haired man looking stern and concerned stood at the door.

[Trace Carter]

"who are you?" asked Z upon seeing the man.

[paladin313]

Kei sighed and said, "Hi, dad..."

[Trace Carter]

"he's your father?" asked Z

[paladin313]

"Yeah," he said, "Dad, what are you doing here?  I..."
     "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" he snapped.

[Trace Carter]

"I'm guessing you saw the race," deadpanned Z

[paladin313]

"But dad...I,"
     "Where was your head?  I mean, you cut in too soon and he felt like you were crowding him.  He bumped you out of the way!  You have to use the momentum of the turn to slingshot you through and THEN you pass!"

[Trace Carter]

"..." Z was rendered speechless.

[paladin313]

Kei looked at Z and said, rubbing the back of his head, "Well...he was kind of my inspiration..."
     Another voice, female, came out all happy, "Wow, son...that was one spectacular crash!  It would have been even neater if you had pinwheeled!"
