Z went to the temple and left the bottle with a note on Urd's desk.  it said
"I'm sorry that I couldn't face you in person, but I had to realize that living in the temple was causing a turmoil in my heart.  I hope you will understand and if you need to talk i'll be at the arcade.

ps. the sake is a going away present.

Proter pulled into the winner's circle to get the trophy and the press attention, but many of the other racers were coming up and congratulating Keiichi for the best finish of any Japanese racer in the Daytona 500, and that they should be proud of what they had done.

Z arrived at the arcade and began to move into one of the spare rooms.

Before long, a camera had come up with a small crew and some reporters wanting some words with Keiichi.

Z sent a chibi self to hild

Hild was loving this.  She now knew the man would have to help her if she asked, and she had a useful tool if she needed one.  She filed that away and let Proter think it was all done.  It may be years before she calls in a favor, but at least she had him.

"Y'know, I half-suspected you to somehow slip Belldandy some cola, just so she could drunkenly ruin Keiichi's meeting with the reporters, Hild." Malek said.

"Nah," she said, "Too easy.  Let him have the spotlight for now."

"We're here with Keiichi Morisato and team Whirlwind, who have just gotten the second place position for today's Daytona 500, and the best finish by a Japanese driver in the history of the race.  Keiichi, well, I see a lot of long faces...how do you feel?"
     Belldandy translated, and it came back, "Well we are a bit disappointed, knowing that we came that close to winning one of races biggest prizes."

"How are things?" asked chibi-Z as he walked up to hild

"Oh, just fine," she said, "I was about to go visit Proter."

[Trace Carter]

"My main self finished moving in," said Z

[paladin313]

"Excellent," she said, "I look forward to helping your gifts grow!"

[Trace Carter]

"thank you," said Z.

[paladin313]

"Well you have to be happy to know that you go back the best Japanese racer ever to take on Daytona."

"Well, yes, that is good, and I am sure I shall enjoy it once the sting of the close loss wears off.  I..."
     However, Tamiya and Otaki were looking like they were ready to cut into the conversation and say something outrageous.

"looks like the muscleheads are going to do something stupid," said Z looking over at Keiichi's team
