"Just merely remembering a reason of why I despise gods..." Malek said.

[paladin313]

"Okay...so...your issues with my plans are...well...?"

[HotelKatz]

"Merely that we should be planning on making him be alright with how we do things, rather than planning on blackmail." Malek said. "In my opinion, blackmail should always be a last resort when it comes to increasing the shares of Hell, not the second move."

[paladin313]

"Oh, of course," she said in a sing-song way, "You well know we are crafty enough to make what we do look like a gain for the client without them knowing just how they are being used."

[HotelKatz]

"And the big trick is to get them to the point where if they find out they're being used, they won't mind it at all." Malek said.

[paladin313]

"Again, I wouldn't have it any other way!" she said in mock surprise to his suggesting that, "I mean, you give these greedy beings enough goodies and they won't care what you do, or what you do to them--as long as their happy little world is not shattered."

(Sounds like the current atmosphere in America today...can you say "Fahrenheit 451"?)

Malek was about to say something when he remembered something.

"Do you remember back when Ian first moved into the temple, I replaced one of the nails in the ceiling with a similar nail, but it was made of a material that would allow Mara to enter Ian's dreams, even if she was in the arcade?" Malek asked.

[paladin313]

"Sure...are you planning to mess with him as well?  I mean, he has embraced his heavenly side, so, turning him to us is going to be much harder than before, especially with that mutt looking over him!"
     She screwed up her face and then said, "He fully understands the reasons why things happened the way they did, he has come to terms with it, and is comfortable with that fact; not to mention the fact that that harpy named Lind is watching over him.  The fact that Chrono has the hots for him make things harder, because she would also come to his aid in a New York minute!"

[HotelKatz]

"No plans at the moment, just making sure that you remembered." Malek said. "And besides, they can't look into his dreams all the time."

[paladin313]

"What would block that?"

[HotelKatz]

"Well, him sleeping anywhere but his room." Malek said.

"Ah...well, he's been quiet lately.  I wonder what he's been up to?  I haven't checked him lately."

[HotelKatz]

"From my records, he still trains with the basic spells. The comment that he made about mastering the shield spell 'inspired'  Urd to put his shield through one of her tests. After she broke through his shield a few times, she said something along the lines of 'You can make the shield, but you gotta learn to increase its strength' or something along those lines." Malek said.

"So, was he discouraged by this, or did it make him practice harder?"

[HotelKatz]

Malek thought about it.

"Neither, really. He was a bit sheepish at getting a big head after performing a spell for the first time," Malek said
