As they walked up, they heard, "...and he passed the test!  How can you do this?"
     "I...I...  Look, I don't want to lose her!" he said, becoming a bit quiet, "I feel like I'm losing a part of me--like someone is taking my other eye."

[Auir]

"You only have one eye anyway..." muttered Skuld off to the side.

[paladin313]

"Dear, you want her happy, right?"
     "Well, of course..."
     "How would heaven be with her moping around  sad all the time?"
     "Well..."
     "Daddy...  Let go..."
     He sighed and said, "Honey, forgive me.  I love you so much."
     The cone went away and she embraced her father, saying, "Thank you for showing me how much you care."
     Tyr made everyone freeze, and then went to Kei and said, "I just have one stipulation for you.  Take care of my daughter.  Do her no harm.  I know you shall do as husband and wife do, but understand--do not hurt her.  You like that Beamer, right?"
     "Oh sure," answered Kei, "She's my baby."
     "Hmm...  Okay, then, how would you feel if someone took a key right across the gas tank, and then cut the seat with it."
     "I'd be angry!  I don't know what I'd do."
     "Good, Kei, you understand--don't key my daughter!"
     He swallowed hard and sweatdropped, saying, "Yes, sir..." now realizing where Skuld had gotten in over all these years.

After that, he waived his hand, and everyone forgot all that had just happened, and went on with the ceremony.

And so the joyous ceremony continued on its path. Full of happy tears and quiet sniffles.

They got to the part where Tyr said, "If there is any who can show just cause why these two should not be wed, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace."

[Auir]

The crowd was quiet.

Kei looked at Skuld out of the corner of his eye while Sayoko and Toshiyuki looked like they were both starting to stand as to speak.

[Auir]

She was sitting quietly in a chair, not facing the ceremony. She was holding a flower in her hand and plucking off petals one by one.

Not realizing it, both Sayoko and Toshiyuki were starting to move up to the front to speak.

(Warning?  And Skuld doesn't care for any of this?)

[Auir]

"Hm?" Skuld plucked off the last petal and looked up. She saw Sayoko and Toshiyuki moving up and went to intercept them.

"What are you doing?"

"Is there an objection?" asked Tyr.
    "I'll say there is!" they both said in stereo.

[Auir]

She stared at them and frowned.

[paladin313]

"This girl is not a national," she said, "and can provide nothing for him!  Note how poor they've always been!  She can never give to him what he needs!
    "Nor could he give to her what I could give," protested Toshiyuki, "I can provide for her all her needs! He can give her no future!  We protest!"

[Auir]

"Then if Belldandy-nee and Kei-nii can prove that they can provide for each other, will you step down?" Skuld spoke out loud.

"But once they wed, then it's too late to protest!" said Sayoko, "How can they prove it here and now?"
