I really enjoyed Tenchi in Tokyo. I know it's very "monster of the week" in the beginning, and can get silly (especially with some of the super deformation art style used at certain times), but I liked the different take on their relationships. "Ryoko's Big Date", "Carnival", and the final two episodes we highlights for me - there are some very heart wrenching moments in those. I'm a fan of the Tenchi dubs in general, and I think this was when they were at their peak (voice cast changes aside).
It was years later that I found out about the Omake Special, and it turned out to be a real treat. I only wish it were included on the US DVD releases, even if it was only subbed (a dub would've been great though!)
