"...I believe I told you a few days ago..." Malek said. he then sighed as he muttered quietly, "I really should stop trying to tell you anything when your soaps are on...."

"Judging by how fast the magical energy of the parts were decaying, Kakarine put the parts in to cause a good deal of the racers to crash during an important part of the race. Due to how her first scheme went, I believe it was to cause Belldandy some more emotional distress. I'm willing to bet that if Belldandy confronted Kakarine about it, Kakarine would probably say something like if Belldandy had never stayed with Keiichi, the racers would never have been a target for Kakarine." Malek explained.

"The problem with that is, if it happened during the 500, it could be fatal, and not just for him, but for the 20 or so other cars that would get involved with him!  She apparently does not realize what the restrictor plates do to the cars."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"I don't think Kakarine really cares as long as the end result causes Belldandy distress." Malek said.

"Even if it means killing Keiichi?  This girl needs to be straightened out!  You saw what happened to him today."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"Kakarine's a Pah 'reeni. When they were still around, they looked down on everyone. I imagine the incident that wound up leaving her the last Pah 'reeni left her a bit unhinged." Malek said.

"It would me."

(Please explain that one...the history of that, I mean.)

(A  batch of trinkets using materials from a faulty gem vein in the Pah 'reeni dimension wound up draining the lifeforce of the majority of Kakarine's race. Due to how the  looked down on other races, they refused to seek help and their population shrank until Kakarine was the last one left.)

"I'm still a bit surprised that Belldandy told Urd to wash Keiichi, especially when you considering that the last time Keiichi was in an accident, Mara had managed to severely dampen Belldandy's power to the point where she couldn't command a drop of water and all Belldandy could do was watch the truck that Keiichi was in continue to burn. At least until that spirit fellow showed up and hleped reveal Mara's presence." Malek said. "You'd think that Belldandy would stick onto Keiichi like glue. But she instead just handed him off to Urd."

(Keiichi got into an accident in chapter 45 in the manga.)

"Maybe she was so shook by what happened she didn't know what to think."

Malek shrugged.

"Or she instinctively blocked the memory of the last time to avoid creating a hurricane, caused by her emotions." Malek said.

"Not everyone is a self-control freak like you, old man..." Deberk muttered under his breath, as he was frying some spam.

"Did you complete my request for the arcade?" Malek asked Deberk.

"Yes, the arcade now has of insulation and central heating, so we don't have to buy a heater for each room like everyone else in Japan." Deberk answered with some annoyance in his voice.

"Good." Malek said.

(I recently read a few articles that most buildings in Japan don't have of insulation and central heating. Sorta explains why a good deal of manga and anime have stories that center around a kotatsu. here's one of the articles http://www.wideislandview.com/2009/11/the-japanese-way-no-insulation-no-central-heating/ )

(They are so behind in the times.)

"Well then, the race starts soon.  I just wonder how Belldandy is?  After seeing Kei wreck like that, and then when she sees how tight all 36 cars are going to be, she just might be tempted to use her powers to protect him."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"And yet if she does, she'll be attacking Keiichi's pride as a racer." Malek said. "Her love of competition will prevent any action like you suggested."

"Was there any hidden reason for the request, Malek?" Deberk asked.

"Yes. When winter comes, the insulation and central heating would be a nice temptation for Z to want to move into the arcade and out of the temple." Malek said. "Due to how the temple is constructed, there's no way to insulate the place while preventing water damage in the summer and there's no way to provide central heating without costing more money than what Keiichi and Belldandy can make."

"Ah...so you think we can win him over, do you?"
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"....Win who over?" Malek asked.

"Z," she said, "Isn't it obvious that, if he is around us long enough, he could embrace what he truly is?  It's the old saying: you hang around horse thieves long enough, you eventually become one."

"I talked him into joining us about a month ago." Malek said. "I pointed out that with Runic Divination, he can know where to cause misfortune to help people.  for example, most people would choose to be a bit late to their job, instead of getting into an accident. Runic Divination can help Z know when to cause a car to stall when it starts up."
