"Well, it's like the mob: he's always on the payroll whether he likes it or not.  Being the case, we can call in favors from him whenever we like."

Z laughed, "you really got him good."

[HotelKatz]

"Just don't go too far too fast, Hild. I'd like to keep him from wanting to seek help from you-know-who." Malek said.

"Oh, of course," she said, "He's in my back pocket."

[HotelKatz]

"Good." Malek replied. "I'll let you know when I'll start preparing for the vacation."

Because of the way the pits went, and because it had been so clean, there was the main pack, and about seven cars alone in a pack, Kei and Proter among them.

"Another way to answer your question, Z, I suspect that in time, Proter might open up an automotive shop. We might be able to use that to look for people desperate enough to make a deal with us. We migh be able to do that by getting Proter to let Mokkurkalfi work there. Skill-level-wise, she's Skuld's rival when it comes to machines." Malek said. "So there's no cost at the moment."

"you mean the girl with the weird mask?" asked Z

Malek nodded.

[Trace Carter]

"so she's Skuld's rival..."

[HotelKatz]

"Unofficial rival. Nothing has been declared." Malek said.

[Trace Carter]

"Oh, I just remembered," said Z, "I'm going to need another seal.  I noticed my magic has been growing recently."

[HotelKatz]

Malek produced a catalog and handed to Z.

"This has a variety of seals. Look through it and choose one. I'll bring it to you by the end of the day." Malek said. "If you want something resembling military dog tags, they're around the middle of the catalog."
