"Ah, I'll have that one ready within an hour." Malek said, before teleporting away.

[Trace Carter]

Z resumed observing things from Hild's shoulder.

1/3 of the race was done, still no wrecks, and the lead pack was exchanging leads constantly.

[Trace Carter]

"I wonder who will win?" mused Z

[paladin313]

"I'm just waiting for the first big wreck...and it WILL happen."

[Trace Carter]

Z nodded.

[paladin313]

Not four laps later, in the main pack, a rookie in the front made a rookie mistake and started a chain reaction wreck.  Bell was about to respond, but his father took off her headset and said, "Go High and go past it!  It should all have rolled to the bottom of the track by then."
     "Roger," he said, and took the lead.  The others lined up behind them and shot past the wreck.  Just as they did, the red flag came out, and all the cars were to stop where they were.

Chibi Z2 was impressed by Keiichi's father's judgement.

Belldandy looked sad, saying, "I...would not have known to say that."

(Not sure of his father's reaction to that.)

[Trace Carter]

(he could reassure her.  also isn't Chihiro there?  She's a woman so how would he react?)

[paladin313]

(Chihiro would be down on the ground with a headset.  Those two are in an observation tower that allows view of the whole track.)

"Hey, it's okay," he assured her, "This is new to all of you.  We'll get him there, I promise."

[Trace Carter]

(ah, ok)

There was about a 20 minute delay as they took cars off the track, and by the time it was done, the yellow came out, as did the pace car, and the pace laps started again.  However, everyone pitted because of the fuel they spent idling.

"looks like it's getting good," said Z

They were back out on the track in a flash, and now there was about 17 good cars left.
