"Hild, About that book that future-Urd gave Deberk, about the section concerning Ian... I believe it was a prank played on you by Future-Urd." Malek said.

"Really?" she asked, "What gives you that idea?"

"First, the Ian part was in english, while the rest of the book was in Japanese. Second, IMLYING is spelled out by the first letter of seven consecutive lines along the left margin." Malek said.

"But, my question is, why would she do that?"

[HotelKatz]

"If you knew a way to both prank someone and protect another, would you do it? This prank did make you wait a bit when it came to Ian before the hearing. Deberk told me you said to not try to make Ian hold off on making his decision, when it was a prime time to make him join our side." Malek said.

"So you think she did it to trick me into backing off enough so Ian could be what he now is?"

"Perhaps, Perhaps not..." Malek said with a shrug. "For all we know, it may have been something she decided to do because writing the plans, locations, and reasons of those wanting to try to overthrow you was getting a bit samey. Speaking of that, most of them simply needed a vacation or someone to talk to. I enlisted a number telepaths of several species to help with that."

"I wonder if they will vacation now?"

"Going by what I know of Keiichi.... Probably somewhere where he would have taken a vacation if no money had been won. The amount of stuff in his home  that's old, but taken care of is proof that he'll most likely save the money for emergencies." Malek said. "I don't envy him, for I suspect the vacation will be cut short, and we won't have to do a thing."

[Trace Carter]

"he really draws bad luck to himself, doesn't he." Z sighed

[HotelKatz]

"Yes, the amount of people looking for a handout from him or wanting to challenge him will definitely put a damper on his vacation." Malek said. "His hope for a peaceful life has been put on hold because of this race."

[Trace Carter]

"and it will help our shares right?"

[paladin313]

"It is quite possible, though, after everyone gets paid a share, and the expenses of doing this race, he'll still be able to keep about $100 large."

(For those in Rio Linda, $100 large is $100,000 dollars.)
